CHAPTER 17
HEESEUNGXYUNJIN
HEESEUNG'S POV
Heeseung was just now leaving his apartment after getting ready. Having the day off in the middle of the week worked out for him. It was a nice change since he did Monday through Friday as a full time student last year.
Hesseung took out his phone to text Yunjin where to meet. He texted her to go downtown for brunch. Heeseung walked to his car in the parking. Garage and took off.
After finally reaching the cute small cafe they agreed to meet at, he parallel parked near the entrance. He once again took out his phone to text her.
*text*
Heeseung: *location sent*
Heeseung: imma go ahead and go in and get us a table
Yunjin: sure! I'm almost there
Heeseung: okayHeeseung gets out of the car and walks in the cafe. He was met with a hostess and seated him near the window. It looks awfully cloudy today he thought to himself. He sat there patiently waiting for Yunjin.
YUNJIN'S POV
Yunjin was fixing her hair when he got a text from Heeseung asking her where to meet. She suggested the cafe downtown because she's been wanting to go there for a minute now.
After finally getting ready, she grabbed her purse and went downstairs to get a taxi. Yunjin's mom was going to fly in next week to see how she's doing after settling down. Her mom also agreed to help her get a car then, but for now, public transportation it is.
Yunjin politely told the driver where to go. She then gets another text from Heeseung saying he's already at the spot. She replies that she's almost there. The drive was fairly quick as they approached their destination.
"Thank you so much, sir." Yunjin told the driver as he nodded back at her in acknowledgement.
She walks in the restaurant and sees Heeseung already sitting down. He waved to her as soon as he saw her enter. Yunjin gave him a big smile and walked over to him.
"Sorry, did I keep you waiting long?" Yunjin said as she sat down.
Heeseung looked at her as she sat down. "No, I've only been here for a couple minutes. Thank you for meeting me."
"Your timing was just right since I was just about to eat lunch." She replied.
"I'm happy then, should we order?" Heeseung asked.
"Yeah, let's do it." Yunjin said as she looked at the menu right infront of the table.
Heeseung raised his hand to get the attention of the waitress. The waitress walks over and asks if they were ready and took their orders. She takes the menus as soon they were done ordering.
"So are also free all day today?" Heeseung asked her, taking a sip of his water.
"Yeah actually, I thought it'd be good to have free day in the middle of the week." Yunjin said tucking her hair behind her ear. "You too?" She asked
Heeseung chuckled lightly. "We had the same idea. I've been doing Monday through Friday for 2 semesters straight and it got to be too much for me." He explained.
"So what's your major?" She asked.
"Ah, I'm going for computer engineering." Heeseung replied. "Yeah I don't know what I got into but so far so good I guess." He said with a little confidence. "What about you?"
"That's really impressive Heesueng, you've always been smart." She smiled reminiscing again about the old times. "I'm actually going for business. That was the deal with the parentals soOoo." She explained.
"Dang, so do they want you to take over or something?" He tried asking. He didn't want to pry too much since he knew how strict her parents were.
"That's the plan but I'm not sure if that's what I want to do. I'm just trying to live ya know." She said as she rested her elbows on the table and cupped her cheek.
Heeseung smiled at her.
Yunjin caught him staring at her. "Heeseung, you're doing it again." She laughed.
"Ah my bad." She said still smiling and looked away.
"What no compliment this time?" Yunjin raised an eyebrow obviously teasing him.
Their conversation was interrupted by the waitress as she brings over their food. They ate and caught up about their old classmates and the old days. Yunjin was glad to see Heeseung doing well. They finished their eating and asked for the check. Both playfully fought over paying the bill but Heeseung ended up insisting and paid anyway.
"I don't even know why I bother." Yunjin said rolling her eyes.
"That's okay, you can get me next time." He winked at her.
Yunjin tried to hide her smile as he hinted of a second date.
"Wanna walk around for a bit?" Heeseung asked. "Just around downtown."
"Yeah sure, I have to walk off this food." Yunjin said rubbing her belly.
They started walking together further downtown to look at some of the stores. Yunjin was having a good time. Heeseung told her more stories about highschool and their old friends. Yunjin laughed at his jokes.
Yunjin suddenly felt a drop of water on her arm. She looks up as raindrops started to fall. They were both already a bit far from the cafe where Heeseung parked.
"Oh shit." Heeseung said as the rain started to pour harder. Her grabbed Yunjin's hand as they ran together to find cover.
"Damn the one day I didn't check the weather." He said jokingly. They finally found cover outside a convenient store. They stood there as the rain got harder.
He was still holding her hand. Yunjin noticed and looks down at his hand that was still holding his.
She blushed. Heeseung was well aware of the situation now and held her hand tighter."Fuck" he thought to himself. He didn't say a word. He wanted to hold her hand a bit longer. To his surprise her hand wiggles out of his grip as she intertwines her fingers with his.
He looks down at her to see she was just looking at the rain. "Fuck" he thought to himself again.
