Ella B's eyes suddenly snapped towards the voice that had finally answered her. Joe..at least that's what it said on his work apron that he wore. She did remember him though from the last time she came. He was..cute..adorably awkward with his messy hair that he probably didn't brush often. But there was something about his eyes that made her have a hard time looking away. When Joe looked at her, she felt like he was looking at the most locked away parts of her. Somehow he could just see her..like really see her. With just a glance....or maybe she read too many romance novels.
But she was pleasantly surprised to hear that he actually remembered her. Though Not many people probably go searching for timberwolves books on purpose so she probably wasn't hard to forget in that aspect. And hearing that they actually did have them made her lips curl up brightly.
"Oh really? Yeah that's wonderful thank you!" She said quickly as he disappeared around the corner. Her attention quickly changed to the other worker that approached her, Ethan as he introduced himself cheerfully. At the mention of Beck's books however, Ella's ears almost perked up.
"Wait, she came here? Really? So you like met her?" Ella asked, her brows lowering as an intriguing glint in her eyes washed over her gaze. But it quickly went away when Joe arrived back, making Ella B take a step back to give them room.
"I actually already have a copy myself so no free merchandise for me" she teased as Ethan walked off making her eyes focus back to Joe. She walked up to the counter again, leaning against it slightly as she smiled.
"It's okay..I enjoy talkers, they tell a lot about themselves without even realizing it. They go on and on about their life stories but nobody really even cares..That's why I prefer to listen.." she said biting the inside of her cheek as her eyes fell down to the surface she leaned on, a warm rush to her cheeks as she dug into her bag to pull out her wallet.
"I've been looking everywhere for that book since I lost mine before the move. I got halfway through it when..." she paused, her fingers pulling out her debit card and freezing as she looked up at him. Her plump lips slowly formed into a knowing smirk as her eyebrow cocked up. "See..talkers.."
She swiped her card at the card reader only to be met by the annoying error beeping noise from the machine. She tried it again and was met with the same noise. Third times a charm.
"Well..this is embarrassing..." she let out an awkward laugh. "And I didn't bring any cash with me..I'm so sorry, i made you go through all this trouble to get the book right now.. I don't have time to go home, I have somewhere to be right now.." she mumbled looking at the time on her Apple Watch, she would be meeting Evan soon.
Ella B looked back to Joe, giving him a quick smile.
"Can you pretty please hold it for me? Until tomorrow? And I'll actually have cash on me, like a normal New York citizen" she joked rolling her eyes playfully brushing loose strands of hair from her face.
