"Sorry.." he said smoothly, "I didn't mean to.. offend your choices," he added quickly,
'Shit, was that insensitive..'
he leant against the counter slightly, 'so she's into murder, I don't know if that's a turn on, or if I should be worried' he thought to himself, his eyes drifting across her soft skin.
He let out a laugh, "a crime podcast?!" Stepping back slightly, "I should call you detective, who'd you podcast about? Let me guess, Ted Bundy, I know, people think he's a heartthrob, but Ella, he's a serial killer," he stated,
'Hacked? I wish I could say that was me, but alas, I'm not a hacker, I wish I was,
Joe faked hurt, placing his hand on his heart, "ow, you wound me so.. a true betrayal of trust," he played, leaning back slightly.Joe also forgot about Ethan until he was practically sitting on him, rolling his eyes, "no, no- Ethan she didn't even- oh my god," he grumbled to himself.
'If you weren't such a ball of sunshine, I'd of killed you first'
Ethan eyed him, then looked at Ella, trying to ignore the lanky man attempting to push him away,
"Sorry, he just-" Ethan giggled, "he gets so nervous around pretty woman,"
And with that Joe finally pushed him out of the counter space, huffing slightly, clenching his jaw,
"He's- he, he's being ridiculous," Joe laughed nervously, "I talk to a lot of woman,"
He stopped, realising what he said,
"I mean, I don't- I don't talk to a-lot of woman like that, I just mean- I don't, you know forget it," he grumbled, trying not to make himself look anymore like a dork.He frowned at her, "hmm, I like the way you think," he smirked, also glancing at Ethan who winked at them, turning to a grumpy looking miss smith.
He was already helping her out the door, "you know I think it's so much closer to all those cafes, grab yourself a coffee, enjoy your book," he whispered to her.Joe leaned in, "your a genius," he whispered,
'I say a lot worse'
"Don't be scared, trust me, besides I don't even have a favourite customer, oh, wait.. there is this one girl, get this- she made me hold a book for a whole day, and when she got here, scared me half to death, if I'm being honest it wasn't even a good book," he mumbled with a smirk.'That's it Joe, make up for the awkwardness'
He placed his hands in each pocket, nodding to her, "great, and ah- sorry again for your loss, elderly people are so fragile..." he sighed, waving her off as she left, the bell above the door ringing like always.
By the end of the day, Joe was tired, and annoyed, and his stomach hurt, not only did he eat his lunch, but Ethan forced him to finish that brick of a muffin.
The first thing he did when he got back to his apartment was open his laptop, he wanted to know more about her, and her little friend Evan. He seemed close to her, judging by the several Instagram photos they shared. He moved the laptop, looking around, his apartment was empty, it always was, but beck was still haunting him, he hated it. But right now he seemed to be alone. He widened his legs slightly and shoved a hand down his pants. Throwing his head back slightly, all he could do was think of her. And only her.*
She hadn't texted him, all night, and now all day. It was his day off, so he decided on jogging, he was still so out of shape-'He could hardly finish this sentence without needing to puke'
Joe breathed, stopping at the corner of the path and buckling over,
'Why do people run- it's so awful, Peach was wrong, it's not better then sex, at all-' he took several deep breaths, looking around the park. At least it was a beautiful day. He'd been checking Instagram all day, he wanted to get a closer look at this Evan guy. Figure out weather he was a threat or not.
