Joe groaned, slipping himself onto a bench seat, 'fuck,' he breathed, eyeing several much fitter looking runners sprint past him,
'Men shouldn't wear Lycra- I could see everything, kudos to your girlfriend' he thought. Patting his pockets before fishing out his phone. Nothing.
Joe sighed, willing himself to get up and head home, he could smell the body odour from here, it was his own fault for deciding to wear a long jacket and sweats running, but there was not way his pale legs were getting seen by the public.

When he arrived home, he did the usual, tossing his phone onto the old brown couch he had, and removing his clothes on the way into the bathroom. The water was refreshing, soaping yo and drying off, he walked out of the bathroom with boxers on, rubbing the towel over his curly hair as he walked. His attention though was soon attracted to the ding on his phone, his heart skipped a beat, did she actually message him??
Joe walked a little faster, dropping the towel to the floor,
'Yes! Wait-'
Joe read the message just as fast, 'is this a date before a date?' He questioned, trying to figure out what to type.

"Hola"
'Wait no that's weird-'
"Hey!-
"Hey, yeah, In down? -
'Don't sound to desperate,'

Joe cleared his throat,
"Hey, yeah id love to! Be there in fifteen,"

His reply was simple but he believed it got the point across, he looked around his apartment before realising he was still just in underwear, running to his bedroom and putting on a beige sweater, white tshirt and jeans. Grabbing his phone and shoving it into his pocket.
Joe put on some plain dress shoes, closing the door behind him before heading to Lakers cafe.

When he'd gotten there, it was nicer then he thought. The cafe was new, it had to have been, or he just didn't go out a lot, it was the latter. He shoved his hands into his pockets, immediately spotting an all to familiar Ella, he smiled, fixing his shirt before walking over,
"Mind if I join you, I promise, I won't talk your ear off". He smirked, sliding into the seat opposite her,
"Sorry, I got here a little late, I was running,"

from what Joe learned, woman like men who run,

"I dabble. Ah, anyway, I'm glad you texted actually, I was worried I scared you off with that date proposition yesterday," he said awkwardly, the waiter quick to take there orders,
"Black coffee please. Two sugars,"
Joe turned waiting for Ella to anwser before the waiter was off.
He looked at her, "are you ok? Is it your neighbour, look, I'm sure whatever happened was out of your control," he sympathised, "I know- ah-'people get close with neighbours,"

'Not mine. That guys been stealing my paper for years..'

"No sidekick today?" He questioned, eyeing the tables around her, "you guys seem to hang out a lot," he smirked, "bit to pry- I- I just think your boyfriend wouldn't be to happy with you, being out with a total guy stranger", he shrugged,

'That's it Joe, take it carefully'
