For a moment, Ella's worries about Evan disappeared when Joe put his jacket around her. She could've melted. He truly was a gentleman. Even after her baby tantrum and shouting out here, he wasn't put off about it at all. She smiled softly as he agreed to fill of sweet tooth needs and led them to the ice cream parlor.
Ella's tongue flicked her ice cream up and down, the chocolate chip mint scoop melting slowly in the cone she held in her hand. They had found a nice bench across the way to sit down on while they enjoyed their late treat. She giggled softly glancing to Joe.
"Just don't mention my karate training, I'm out of practice ya know" she teased before focusing back on her ice cream. "And I'll make it up to Ethan. I'll send all my mystery junkie online friends to come check the hottest bookstore in the city, not the new boring one" She playfully elbowed Joe's arm. Ella stayed quiet for a moment, kicking her feet back and forth as they scrapped the cement slightly. She smiled sadly before letting out a sigh.
"So..do you think I'm gonna be like your friend?" She suddenly asked looking to him. "Do you think it's all gonna blow up in my face?"
