Ella probably would've noticed Joe come in by the sound of the door chime and distant chatter from him and Ethan, but her mind couldn't get the gold chain out her brain. It was just a gold chain. It could literally be anyone's. She didn't want to jump to conclusions but her mind was wearing moon boots today. When she heard Joe's voice suddenly near her, she jumped, the book in her lap sliding off and landing on the floor. She looked up at as he spoke, her body slowly relaxing as she leaned down to pick up the book. "Yeah well that's what happens when you put your trust in people..now I may never find Evan" she sighed glancing up before quickly looking down again.
"Sorry.." she mumbled, dusting off the cover. Maybe Marco was right, she should just let the police do their job instead of playing her own detective, clearly she was bad at it. "..I hope you don't mind, I know you said I could borrow one but I didn't want to take it far" she said, referring to the book as she smiled softly up at him. The sound of a nice dinner with him was..nice. And it sounded relaxing and peaceful. The complete opposite of what Ella was feeling these days. But at the same time, a peek inside Joe's apartment did sound intriguing. She could probably find out even more about him, more than what he tells her to believe.

"Yeah..Indian takeout sounds lovely" she replied nodding before standing up. She hesitated for a moment, going to reach into her pocket to pull out the gold chain but she stopped herself. She was sure Joe had a perfect explanation. Maybe it was his, or Mooney's or even Ethan's. So why didn't she want to ask him? Her eyes looked to Joe for a moment, attempting to read his face but..he was..so innocent. His face screamed he adored her, and she couldn't help but adore him back. "Text me your address..and I'll come by at 6" she said stepping closer to him. Ella smiled, slyly griping his apron to pull him closer, leaning up to place to ever so gentle but quickly kiss upon his lips. It lingered for a minute, wanting to give him a small tease before she pulled away and bit her lip.

"Bye Joe.." she said softly before letting his apron go and placing the Ozma of Oz book she was holding against his chest to take back. She smiled at him before walking past to head back home.
