Alyona Desteen's POV

"I heard she didn't enroll for fourth year."

My world seemed to stop when Malia said those lines while we were in call. I was cooking myself some food when I decided to call her for an update.

My brows furrowed. "What do you mean by that, Malia?" I seriously asked.

I heard her sigh. "May summer... pero hindi ko siya nakita noon. Her name's not in here. I've checked the possible enrollees for third and fourth year, I did not see her name."

"The other courses? Political science, can you please check?" I asked eagerly.

"We already checked, too, because it is possible for her to shift courses. I had Dyanne check the other universities for she might have transferred, but we had no information about her..."

My world completely shut. She... didn't enroll?

Back when we were still living under the same roof, she tells me all the time how much she wanted to become a doctor. She was so certain with the course she took... that even if her father disagrees with her taking Bachelor of Science in Nursing, she still pursued it.

That was all I know about her Dad: he never let Courtney take BS Nursing.

"She might've dropped out, Aly," Lia looked at her screen, looking at me. "The incident affected her well-being so much... and I'm afraid it would last for another month, or maybe years-"

"Stop," I pleased. "She's so close to graduating from pre-med..."

"We tried visiting her, but her guardians didn't let us in." She whispered. "We all thought no one was able to come inside her room, except for one."

"Who?" The thought of someone, having to comfort my Courtney aside from me triggered and intrigued me.

"Aliana Miley? I don't know if you're familiar with her." I clicked my tongue in my cheeks. "She could go in and out of KC's room, KC won't allow anyone inside her high walls—except for her."

That girl... she was nice, alright, but one day, I confronted Courtney about her, back when I remembered how irritated I was when Courtney used to tease me by clinging her arms around that Miley's shoulder.

I got jealous.

We didn't have a label, but I was so freaking jealous! It triggered me! But oh well, it was my fault anyway.

Sebastian was there, that's why she did that.

Smart ass girl.

"KC's really likeable, 'no?" I came back from my reverie when I heard Lia speak after the moment of silence. "Even if she does nothing, she can still pull someone, either a girl or a boy."

My brows furrowed when I saw her looking at me sadly, while obviously thinking about KC—we were talking about her, anyway.

Something's in her eyes, and I couldn't name it.

"What are you trying to say, Malia?" I asked, serious.

"Huh?" She pretended. "Wala, Aly, ano ka ba," she chuckled. "I was just saying that she could be liked by someone even if she just stands there and breathe."

"Her whole existence is likeable." I went back to cooking. "Did not even realize that I was already falling for her. You see, I won't realize it not until she ghosted me."

"What?" She laughed. "She did that?"

"Oh, she did," I rolled my eyes. "She ghosted me before Valentine's, you know?"
