"Hey Jack! Wake up!"

I opened my eyes. I was in a laboratory. Dr. ☝︎✌︎💧︎❄︎☜︎☼︎ stood above me.

Dr: I've finished the new prototype, you want to see this.

I got up out of the chair I was sitting in and followed him to his computer. He'd been working on some crazy project. I didn't think it was possible, but apparently he was making good progress.

Dr: It's stable! This is a massive step! We can finally proceed to the next part.

My eye's widened, and I nodded, impressed. Until now, his project had been trying to tear itself apart. He hadn't let it discourage him though. His determination was admirable.

Jack: Well, what's next?

Dr: Well, next step could be several things. The easiest would likely be creating a physical projection of it whenever it's active.

Jack: Sounds like a good idea, you have a design in mind?

Dr: Yes. Give me a few moments... okay! Should be ready now!

Jack: That was fast.

Dr: I will admit, I've been working on it in the meantime.

He spun around to face me, and raised his hand. A tri-pronged glyph appeared in his hand.

Jack: Damn, nice design. You got a name for this thing?

Dr: I've got one in mind. I'm thinking of calling it...

ABSOLUTE SOLVER

I gasped for breath. I clawed at my mask, tearing it off my face. I didn't care that the air was toxic, I was used to it at this point.

Tessa: Jack?! What happened.

I slowed my breathing and placed my mask back onto my face. I looked back at the monitor. Things had changed. For the better. The Solver had detangled itself from a significant amount of Uzi's code.

N: Uzi!? Jack, what happened?!

Jack: I... I'm not entirely sure. I just relived a memory, safe to say Uzi saw it too. The Solver has also detangled itself from her quite a bit.

N: That's... that's mostly good, right?

Tessa: I'm not sure N. Jack's past is a bit-

Jack: It's fine. I'm sure everything will be fine. Yes N. That is mostly good. I should've expected this. It's fighting back, hard. Nothing can ever be easy. I have to do it again.

Tessa: Are you sure this is a good idea? From what you've told me...

Jack: I've told you almost everything, yeah. Worst case scenario here, honestly, isn't that bad. Seems like it's working, I just have to get through this.

I raised my hand to my face, staring at the glyph in my fingers.

Jack: Just you and me buddy. Let's do this one more time.

I placed my hand back onto the computer and began working. My vision darkened again, and I sunk back into my chair. I felt Tessa embracing me as I blacked out once again.

{Hey. I want to make some things a bit clearer. For my own convenience, and because it fits, there is a Dr. Gaster here, who plays an important role. Not about to make this any kind of Undertale crossover thing though. These chapter will likely be much shorter than the others as well. This one's only 500 words.}
