{APES TOGETHER STONG}
The upgrades didn't take as long as I thought they would. Within twenty minutes all the Disassembly Drones were equipped with a shiny new tool.
Jack: There you go. Be careful where you aim it, you can bootloop each other. And yourselves.
V: This feels like a liability.
Jack: If we run into any Solver Drones, this will be your best chance at survival. It's necessary. Just be careful and you'll be fine.
N: What if we do accidentally bootloop each other?
Jack: Poke whoever's bootlooped a bit. Input to some of your sensors will probably wake you up. Worst case scenario, wait it out. I don't know about the Worker Drones, but your systems will eventually fix themselves.
J: Good to know, I guess.
She pointed it at me and flashed the light. I brought up a hand to block the light and heard something hit the wall. Hard.
Jack: It works well enough as a flashbang too. Don't point it at me.
As the spots faded, I noticed J was pinned against the wall. I had The Solver out as well. I released J, and she fell to the ground, revealing a new dent in the back of her head. It fixed itself, and she got back up.
J: I thought you'd mostly stopped using that thing. Fucking OW.
Jack: Don't do that, and there won't be any more ow.
V: That didn't look purposeful.
Jack: It wasn't. I think I have some... pent up energy, for lack of a better term.
N: Should you really be exhausted? I mean, you've done a lot.
Jack: You'd think so. Y'know what, I have an idea. Needs to be done and might help me clear my head a bit. Come on.
I led the bots back to where Tessa and Uzi were. They were sitting against one of the walls, talking. Good to see their becoming... friends? Hopefully. Tessa had taken her helmet off. Both of them looked happy.
Jack: Good to see you two getting along.
Tessa: Hi Jack.
Uzi: Hey. They done?
Jack: Upgrades have been completed. Have you guys figured out what we should do?
Uzi: We decided to not split up. It usually doesn't end well.
Tessa: Also, we've agreed to go to the facilities.
Jack: Great. Before we do that, there is another task to be completed. We should refill our supply of oil.
Tessa: Right. No oil, now all of the drones will die.
Jack: Yep. I've already got something in mind. I'd go alone, but I have a feeling that at least V and J would be more than happy to help.
V: Damn right.
J: Doing your job finally? I'm so proud.
Jack: Don't push it. N, you'd prefer to stay with Uzi, right?
N: Yes please.
Tessa: I'll stay and chaperone these two.
Uzi: Now what do you mean by that?
Tessa: Nothing. Any idea when you'll be back.
Jack: About an hour probably. Give or take a bit.
Tessa: Okay. Go on then, we'll be here.
