The planning stage

Clearing flesh vines was harder than I thought it would be. It not a simple process, I have to carefully cause every single one to wither and disintegrate. It was slow, and not fun. I eventually got it done though. I sat back down and watched the cameras and Tessa and the bots walked hesitantly past the Sentinels. I held my breath. The Sentinels approached. They did not attack. I relaxed. The Sentinels hadn't fully disconnected from the mainframe, and I could still update them. That's one more question answered, and a weight taken off my shoulders.

As they approached the hole we'd dropped in from, I started to lose camera coverage of the area. It was to be expected though. The entrance was almost completely collapsed. There was maybe one cam watching it. I planned to fix that. I wanted to turn this into a full base of operations. No more living in a landing pod, housed within a spire of corpses. I could have The Solver rebuild this place on its own, while I did other things. I would just have to wait. I think this particular facility was built for fixing and upgrading the different drones, so I would be able to repair any damages, as well as give N, V, and J new attachments. I want to give them the light from the Sentinels.

Unfortunately, this facility was not capable of manufacturing most of the parts I would need for repairs to the actual structure. I wasn't sure exactly how many places like this there was on this planet, but I could find out. Using The Solver, I created a massive screen on one of the walls. I connected it to the main computer and switched it on. I had the computer scan for the other facilities. I couldn't interact with them from here, but I could find them. The screen I'd created brought up a map, showing the locations of three other facilities. There were definitely more structures, but none of them had the main computer like this one. I guess I had my targets.

The camera's alerted me to a new presence in the facility. Tessa had returned, J was with her now. As they walked back to this room, I sealed doors behind them. Just in case. Soon enough, they came back.

Tessa: We're baaack! What's with the map?

Jack: Glad to see you returned unharmed. That map shows the location of facilities like this one, with their own main computers. They all do different things you see. This one, was mostly focused on fixing, maintaining, and upgrading the various robots, which is why it was used for testing Solver Drones. The others had different purposes. Base Alpha was the first, and is capable of manufacturing parts for repairing the structures.

Tessa: Alpha? So what's this one?

Jack: This is Beta. The second point of focus was the robots, because this is planet was used for mining and manufacturing.

Tessa: So, what about the others? Charlie and Delta, I assume?

Jack: Correct. Charlie was a mix of Alpha and Beta. It could perform basic repairs on both structures and robots, but not with the same efficiency or quality. Delta though, I can't tell what Delta was used for. It's not listed, which is very concerning. The order of construction implies that something came up which required a completely new structure. For all I know, it could just be where they sent materials back to Earth, but that seems highly unlikely.

Tessa: So we should go there and find out what it was used for?

Jack: Not yet. I want to get to Alpha first. I want to completely reconstruct this place, turn it into a base for us.

J: Hate to interrupt, but we came here looking for a list boss.

Jack: Right. I can get that list for you, but while I'm doing that, you mind explaining what I explained to you Tess?

Tessa: Sure thing.

I went looking through the files. I eventually found what I was looking for. A list of all personnel here. There were a lot of names, but they weren't what I was looking for. At the bottom of the list, there was a section of all the drones. It contained the I.D.s of all the Sentinels, which would have been helpful earlier, and then there it was. All drones being used in Absolute Solver Testing. I did see the familiar names of Yeva and Nori, and like I said, Uzi and Doll were not on there. I printed out the bottom bit of the list and handed it to Tessa.
