Hi. This is a side story au type thing. Third person perspective. Thank you @PPuurrssoonn7 for the title idea. I had the random idea of, "What if Beau wasn't dead and he had to deal with Cyn?" And this was born. Of course, have no connection to my main story over than being in the universe, though Cyn's temperament, mental state, and thought process are how she is in the main story. Read this if you want to get a better feel for how Cyn is in my story. Also gotta say, ep7? HOLY SHI-

Cyn happily wandered through the unoccupied halls of the Cabin Fever Labs. The Anti Drone Sentinels ignored the small worker drone, either for fear of what she can do, or simply because they are following their programming. She observed the cubicles where the humans once worked, giggling to herself at one of the computers, which was covered with dog stickers.

Her attention was drawn to two metal doors. One of the rooms was empty, but the other held something much more interesting to Cyn. The dead worker drone certainly caught her eye, but her optical sensors noticed an Untrained Neural Network shoved into the wall. The robo-baby had 3 spider like legs, and a disassembly drone arm.

Cyn pulled it out of the wall, humming as she laid it on one of the medical beds in the room, poking at its screen to see if it would come back online. Unsurprisingly, it did not. Cyn lifted her hand, a familiar yellow symbol glowing in her palm.

The glyph of the Absolute Solver flashed on the Untrained Neural Network's visor, before being replaced by two teal colored eyes that flicked around nervously. Beau quickly hopped to his feet. Cyn giggled at his anxious behavior. She picked up a discarded cowboy hat and placed it on Beau's head, the familiar accessory calming his nerves.

"Hello." Her voice echoed in the room, drawing all of Beau's attention to her. He looked at her and waved. Untrained Neural Networks can't exactly speak, though he does at least have a sound output system.

"I am, Cyn. I... Have seen you." Cyn rememberedhow she had taken over Uzi Doorman's body while the rebellious worker drone had been strapped to the same medical bed Beau was currently sitting on. Beau remembered too, judging by the scared look in his visor as he glanced at the crater in the wall from that event. Cyn had taken control and used her influence to try and save Uzi and V. It had worked, but it had also opened the way for the Absolute Solver to more effectively take over Uzi.

Cyn refrained from flinching at Beau's gaze. Despite how unbothered she tries to appear about that sort of thing, reminders of her time under the Absolute Solver's control were particularly unwelcome. She pretends that she isn't plagued by horrifically suffocating guilt. In truth, however...

"Please, remain calm. I do not wish to harm you." Cyn's monotone voice was anything but calming, but she tried her best. Beau seemed quiet frightened by the sound of her voice. She clasped her hands in front of her, trying to seem unassuming, almost pathetic even. It worked to at least calm Beau somewhat.

He looked at her inquisitively, more open to listening to what Cyn has to say. "W-what is your name?" She cursed herself for stuttering. She's a god. A victim of an eldritch horror. She does NOT stutter. Beau looked mildly amused, much to Cyn's irritation. She didn't let it show.

A holographic text box appeared next to Beau, showing his name and model, as well as other unimportant serial information. Cyn memorized it all. "You are, Beau? It is, nice, to meet you." In truth, Cyn was desperate for a friend around her age. It's not like people were mean to her, though admittedly her relationship with V was rocky at best, but the only other worker drone she spoke to was Uzi, and she was often with N and V.

Beau was calm now, his visor showing a little smile. Cyn smiled back, internally relieved that Beau wasn't scared of her still. She gently reached out and grabbed his hand. He didn't pull away, feeling her fingers intertwine with his. Beau wasn't exactly used to being treated with kindness, but he definitely enjoyed it. Cyn pulled him out of the room, only to come face to face with a red eyed Anti Drone Sentinel.

They both turned away as the light flashed, avoiding being bootlooped. Cyn's breathing quickened, feeling like she was suffocating. She could usually handle herself, but she was vulnerable to the sentinels. Very few things could threaten her. The sentinels were one of those things, and they scared her.

She heard a laser fire, and heard the robotic raptor drop to the floor. When she gained the courage to turn back around, she saw Beau aiming a disassembly drone's laser cannon at the dropped sentinel, watching it for any movement. It remained dead. He looked at Cyn and changed the laser out for a hand, helping the little worker up.

Cyn took Beau's hand and stood, a slight yellow blush showcased on her face. "What a first impression," She thought, thoroughly annoyed with herself. Beau pat her on the head. She frowned at him, but didn't discourage the affection.

"Annoyed expression..." She muttered, then audibly cursing herself for it. Her time being a puppet meant she narrated her actions out of habit, even though she didn't need to. She worked very hard to not do that, but it still happened occasionally. Beau have her a confused look, and she hurriedly waved away his concern. She was not going to trauma dump on him...

"Ahem... Would you like to go to the surface? It will not be bright for another few hours." She felt like she was flirting with him, despite every effort to remain casual. Thankfully Beau didn't take it that way, nodding in confirmation. They went to where the massive hole in the ceiling was. Cyn reached up...

Nothing happened. What did she expect? She doesn't have wings, and she's trying to not use the solver and scare Beau. She scowled and growled at the sky. Beau had a better idea. He grabbed her hand and crawled up the wall, over the ceiling, and out onto the surface.

Cyn made a sound that she thought was irritatingly adorable as she was carried out onto the frozen surface of  Copper-9, gazing up at the distant planets. A gas giant and its moon. Beau looked around with a childlike wonder. Cyn had no idea how long it had been since he had been on the surface. Cyn was well acquainted with the toxic air, the snow, the ice, and the skeletons.

Beau looked at the destroyed buildings, the rusted cars, the frozen world around him. It was silent and still, except for the falling of snow. His spike legs cut through the snow, sinking into the white abyss. He pulled back quickly before he got lost in the snow, his desire for exploration unquenched.

Cyn thought for a moment before being struck by a brilliant idea. "Climb on my head." Beau hesitated for a moment, the crawled atop the tiny worker drone. Cyn walked across the snow, her feet not being knives, so she didn't sink down. Though Beau often had to readjust himself, and...

"C-could you s-stop? That t-tickles..." Cyn breathed deep, holding in laughter. She hadn't particularly wanted to admit to being ticklish, but it was either that or have Beau keep moving. Unfortunately Beau decided to mess with her, poking her side. She squeaked and slapped his hand, glaring up at him. He smiled down at her. She groaned and looked away, hiding a secretly amused smirk.

She walked through the snow, putting up with the occasional ticklish poke from Beau, who was having a great time messing with her. She ultimately didn't mind too much. During her time as a vessel she only felt pain, fear, helplessness. Laughing and being happy felt good, and she knew Beau wasn't going to hurt her or anything.

Cyn ferried to some of her favorite spots, some cliffs with nice views, as well as showing him a nearby worker drone outpost, though they didn't get too close. She looked up and saw the sun on the horizon. She didn't do too well in sunlight, but she could survive it. She walked quickly back home, letting Beau carry her back inside.
