Base Delta. The next ping on my radar. The ideas of what it could hold had poked my brain for the entire time we weren't checking. Well, now we were. Everyone was going, and I had a feeling we would need all of us. We all flew through the air at incredible speed. I carried Tessa and protected her from the effects of such high speed. After half an hour of Mach 1 travel, we touched down on the outskirts of the complex. We were all thoroughly exhausted.
N: We've never had to fly that fast for that long.
Uzi: I don't I've ever had to fly that fast.
J: Takes a lot of effort to maintain Mach 1.
Jack: Takes a lot more effort to hover below it.
V: You sure that math checks out?
Jack: Nope. We've got time to regain energy, but we shouldn't take too long.
Tessa: You sure that you all can actually regain enough energy? I can't imagine that you have much left.
Jack: Won't be too hard. They all recharge pretty quickly, and I'm feeling pretty good.
Uzi: How the hell do you have that much energy? I'm exhausted.
Jack: Right. Worker Drone. You'll take longer to recharge than the rest of them. Me and Tessa can scout an entrance. If there isn't one, we can make one.
V: Sounds like a plan. We'll stay here, but don't take too long.
Jack: Didn't plan to.
I grabbed Tessa and launched into the sky, looking for wherever was the most destroyed. Tessa pointed to the main entrance. It looked like it had mostly collapsed in on itself. We touched down there, and looked around.
Tessa: Well, there WAS something here, can you dig it out?
I summoned The Solver and began moving the rubble. An entrance was slowly revealed.
Jack: Right through the front door? I don't know about this.
Tessa: We can at least check.
We walked through the hole I'd created. I created a glyph and had it float above the center of the room, glowing brightly. It was a pretty standard reception office. There were computers behind a glass wall, but they didn't seem to be receiving any power.
Jack: You seeing anything helpful?
Tessa: Not here. Should we go further?
Jack: Shouldn't go without the bots.
Tessa: Go get them, I'll keep looking here.
I flew off and retrieved our robot companions. Returning to Tessa, I saw her pushing random buttons on a keyboard.
Jack: Nothing?
Tessa: Absolutely nothing. Well, in we go.
There was one door in the room, across from the entrance. She tried the knob, and then kicked the door open. I called the floating glyph to me, and had it light our way.
Jack: If we're lucky, there will be some kind of directory somewhere.
V: Unfortunately, we aren't ever lucky.
Tessa: Generally not, no.
Jack: Which means we're stuck looking for, probably, a secret elevator. In a building we know nothing about because it was all hidden and redacted information.
Uzi: Hooray.
N: That's the spirit.
J: Shut up, idiot.
