YAAAAAWWWWNNNN
It was a beautiful sunny Saturday morning in Los Angeles. The sounds of exhaust and noisy cars filled the streets, as the residents of the busy apartment building prepared their morning coffee and got ready for the day. Chris stretched her arms as far as she could over her head, making sure to hear all the necessary cracks. She let a loud yawn and was surprised with the silence she met in response. She opened her eyes slowly, trying to protect them from the intense light that came from the bedroom window. Silence.
The room was empty. Where was he? She stretched her neck from side to side and then turned to the other side of the bed. Nothing more than empty sheets and a lonely pillow!
Hum...where did he go? No way he got up early on his own! She thought, shaking her head in disbelief.
She froze for a second, trying to absorb any outside noise, maybe coming from the kitchen or bathroom. Silence.
I guess he did. That's strange! He never said anything about needing to be extra early today! Oh, well... she thought, as she shrugged her shoulders slightly.
YAAAAWNNN
Her stomach was growling, but first her bladder needed to be emptied. She was about to explode!
While scratching her eyes, she took slow steps towards the bathroom.
Step. Step. Step.
She left the room, making a quick stop between the bedroom and the bathroom, to try to get any noise from the kitchen and living room. Nothing. It still surprised her that Street had gotten up so early...on his own!
Between half opened and half closed eyes, she turned to the bathroom. She shrugged her shoulders once again, and hurried in, since she couldn't hold it anymore!
Sigh.
A deep sense of relief was felt throughout her body as she relieved the extra weight. The apartment was way too silent, which was beginning to unsettle her. No way would he get up so early in the morning unless it had to do with work or worse...she tried to stay positive!
SLAM
"Babe?"
Deep breathe. Finally! Her heart felt much better when she heard his voice call from the living room. She finished up and rushed out, only to be surprised by a full uniformed Officer Street scrambling from the living room to the kitchen and back. She ignored the take out bag on top of the kitchen counter, keeping her eye on the restless young man.
"What are you doing up so early? And...in uni?" she asked lost, still rubbing her eyes gently.
She stood by the hall, getting a full view of the action. Street was still working his hair, while munching on toasts and downing some coffee. All at once!
"Yeah, um..." he mumbled, while still moving around quickly.
"Street, stop! Stop!" she urged, the second plea sounding more like a command.
He froze, turning towards her with his hair still a mess, his shirt untucked, belt hanging loose, pants halfway buttoned and a slice of toast hanging out from his mouth. He frowned at her, wondering what was the matter.
"Can you talk to me?" she asked politely, amazed at how much he was able to do at once!
He removed the toast from his mouth, placed the coffee mug down and continued to move to and from the kitchen. "I gotta go... Reviews were turned in this week...holistic standards..." he mumbled.
Chris frowned, now more lost than ever! She couldn't really understand what he was saying because he kept moving around and his mumbling only got worse with his deep morning voice tone. He seemed so stressed out!
