WELCOME TO HILLTOP PT.1
———

INSIDE THE RV, Maeve was resting her head on the window. Wanting to get some rest on the ride over to Jesus' community, seeing as she wasn't able to get much rest after the Daryl incident. Then as she was waking back to her house Milo and Daryl came running telling her about Jesus' escape.

Although her mind was wide awake, spinning circles around and around about what her life has come to. She's worrying about a man, worried their friendship is ruined when she shouldn't care. It's just one guy, one stupid guy who she shouldn't care about this much—to the point where her chest hurts when she's thinks about him to long. That's what she's feeling now, a tightness around her heart, a more painful experience than when she broke up with her boyfriend of four years.

To distract herself, Maeve started to listen in on the conversation Abraham and Glenn were in the middle of having. Abraham was asking him about the whole baby situation, asking Glenn how he could bring a baby into this world. Which is valid, seeing as this world is surrounded and ruled by death itself. It was right to question how merciful it would be to bring a life into this world where life was never guaranteed.

Glenn's response was something beautiful, reminded her just how good of a person Glenn is, "We're trying to build something, me and her—all of us."

There was a silence, and took the chance to Maeve opened her eyes. Seeing Glenn's warm smile as he looked down at his sleeping wife beside him. He had a warmness to him, Maeve has always seen, even before they were friends. That's why she was part of the reason she tried to save him in the beginning.

"I think it's brave." Maeve states, catching the two men's attention, "I think you and Maggie are brave, I admire it."

Glenn shares with her his famous smile, "Thanks Evie—oh," His smile drops, "Sorry that just slipped out. Just Mi says it all the time...i'm sorry."

"I only let my closest friends and family use that."

Glenn nods his head, in an understanding as to where he stands on that list, or so he thought.

"So, Evie is fine." Maeve smiles at him, her rare smile where it's hundred percent genuine and you can see that in her eyes. Because the truth is, Glenn is her best friend just like Milo is. Those two mean a lot to her, like brothers, and that is saying a lot since she considers her brothers to be the most important. Behind Kai and Louis, that's where Glenn and Milo come in.

Milo feels like the annoying little brother they put up with while Glenn is like an older brother, despite them being roughly the same age. He feels like a shoulder to cry on when times are rough, in fact, he was the first person she told about the breakup. Not that she cried, but she knew out of everyone he'd be the most understanding—and he was. He made sure she was alright, and when she admitted this cruel things Elliott said, he was there to reassure her despite knowing if it was true or not.

She feels someone nudge her leg that was curled up to her chest, making her look up at Abraham, "Looks like you're going soft, blondie."

Maeve cleared her throat, the smile dropping from her face as she looked at him offended. Maeve uses her leg that is closest to him and give him a light kick that he just laughs off, "Screw off, red."

In return he pushes her legs causing her to sit up straight to further annoy her. Then he goes back to his conversation with Glenn to which Glenn is taking about his happy life and the possibilities of the future, and during this, all Maeve can do is glance over at Daryl at the back of the RV who was talking with Rory and Louis.
