DARYL COULDN'T HANDLE IT, he couldn't sit back and just watch the woman he loves get beaten to death. Her face was unrecognizable, the only part of her he could still look at were her eyes—still as beautifully green in the horrifying moment. They were shiny with tears just like Daryl's were, Daryl just wanted to end this all. For her. For Abraham.

So when Negan leaned in close to Maeve, and his low raspy voice told her threateningly, "I'm gonna gut you like a pig. How does that sound?" Followed by bringing the machete up to her stomach, starting to press the blade into her lower abdomen as it pierced the skin. Maeve let out a small whimper, clenching her jaw together to hold back the screams. But her pain couldn't be hidden, it was written all over her face.

That's when Daryl couldn't take it anymore, that's when his body was shaking with rage and sadness that it overcame him. Daryl jumped to his feet despite the pain he felt doing so, he lunged forward towards the man who dared to touch Maeve. Negan's head tilted over at the perfect moment for Daryl's fist to come in contact with her jaw—knocking Negan away from the woman.

Several men grabbed Daryl, pinned him to the ground as he continued to try and wiggle his way out. Wanting nothing but to get to Maeve, even if it killed him.

"Daryl...no..." Maeve whimpered out, crying as she was forced to watch the scene of Daryl held on the ground. Their eyes were locked, they couldn't look away from each other. Not now, not when they thought this would be their last time looking at each other.

"No. No! All that for her? That is one big no no. Not one bit of that shit flies here. Her—she killed my men, more of them than any of you did! She is gonna die, one way or another, did you have to go and screw that shit up?" Negan shouted, a rage filling inside of him.

A man with a melted face, Dwight, stepped up and held Daryl's crossbow to his dead. Offering to drop Daryl right then and there. Negan seemed to be pondering the thought, thinking that it would be less of an issues to kill the ones who act out, but then Maeve called out in a painfully cry, "No...not him. Don't touch him."

"How romantic." Negan mocked in disgust at her, the way she looked at Daryl through tears, it was clear that they were in love. That she'd rather than have his death on her hands, and that he rather risk everyone's lives than watch her die. Well, their selfish love is going to have consequences, they can't just expect they'll get away with their little act of rebellion. "Don't kill either of them, not yet. I want them to see what happens when you only think of yourselves. Put them in line."

Maeve felt a pair of forceful hands grab her, dragging her in line next to Carl. A trail of blood is left behind her, along with pieces of her dignity. Maeve had barely any strength left, she couldn't sit up on her own and she wished she could just wash away on the gravel—but a saviour grabbed a fist full of her hair, lifting her up slightly. Maeve winced out, tears slipping from her eyes as every part of her broken body ached and screamed at her.

As she was now sitting on her knees, Maeve used one hand to hold her stomach to hold in her pain while her other hand pressed on the wound in her leg. Attempting to slow the bleeding, it hurt like hell and Maeve didn't think she was strong enough for this kind of pain. She was barely hanging in there, and the longer she looked around at her family she just wished this night would end. That her pain would end.

During the time it took for her to get properly seated, Negan had ditched the machete and returned to his normal bat. It was covered in blood, Abraham's blood, parts of his flesh were stuck between the wires. Negan brought it in front of Maeve's face, showing his work off, showing off what he couldn't save. He dared even tap both sides of her cheek with it to make sure she was looking at him.
