He proceeded to close the gap, and everything around me stopped.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

I covered my ears, shouting,

"Jesus! Stop with the bell!"

He attended the door in a rush.

"Yes?"

"Sir, we have had some suspicion that a thief or criminal has booked a room in our hotel. We are required to pat you down and check the room immediately."

My chest tightened.

"Yeah, sure."

He said, as cool as the Atlantic Ocean.

A couple of men poured inside, going through our luggage. I glanced at Donnor from the corner of my eyes, coming towards them.

My breath sped up. What is he doing!?

My eyes darted on his hands. He was holding some sort of a small chip-sized device which I hadn't noticed before.

Since when did he have that in his hand?

The men were busy going through his luggage, opening every single box.

One of them opened a large box, revealing a shotgun.

My mouth hung open in a state of shock.

"What is---"

The others glanced at him,

"Oh my--"

Bam!

Donnor punched them all in succession before I could blink twice.

I went towards him, staring at the men with my eyes wide open.

"What did you just do!? Are you insane!?"

He grabbed a set of ropes kept on the top, tying them up one by one.

"Are you hearing me!?"

I neared his face, gawking at him.

He dug through a heap of clothes, picking up some bandanas.

He handed me a few of them, ordering as if nothing happened,

"Tie them up."

I stood staring at him for a good few seconds. He ignored me like yesterday.

I glanced at the printed bandanas, then at the asleep men. Gulping, I proceeded to tie their mouth.

He was done with the tying. He gestured for me to step back. I did, staring at him as he grabbed them by his arms, stuffing them all inside the wardrobe space below my clothes.

"Why the heck are you stuffing people--"

"Time to attach this chip to the wall."

He showed the chip he was holding right in my face. I stared at him in disbelief.

"Which, by the way, I wanted to attach in that corner."

"What!?"

He nodded like one innocent child, clearing his throat as he turned away.

"Don't think too much, Callie. The plan was to attach this chip without letting you know. Just in case you are wondering about what happened earlier..."

His voice fainted in a shift, a shift that faded so quickly I couldn't catch it. He went to that same corner, attaching the chip - proving his point.

I turned, my thoughts racing in a gut punch.
