My mind went ???? followed by my heart going !?!?!?!?!?
"What---what does this mean!?" I faced Donnor's rock built face, not giving away anything. It stood so out of expression, i thought I had read the wooden board wrong.
But for real, that can't be right.
I blinked back at the board when his voice came.
"It means exactly what it says."
My nerves shot up, but i tried to hide it by rolling my eyes.
"I can read very well, Mr Don. I am asking, what is this?"
"A wooden board."
I exhaled.
"I know that. I am asking what is this wooden cabin doing here and why does the board say our name like that?"
"Like what?" He asked, testing my patience with his clueless tone and stroking chin.
Is he for real!!?
I held my waist, glaring at his nonchalant face.
"Like...." I blurted, but the rest of the words didn't came.
And he laughed at me, making me look like a total idiot.
Ugh! Gear up Callie! What the hell is wrong with you!?
I coughed, raising my voice,
"Like we are a couple."
He stopped laughing, his icy eyes drawing at me in a hail storm. My stomach sank like the Titanic.
Why the heck was he looking at me like that?
He blinked, as if snapping out of a thought as he cleared his throat.
"It's supposed to be a cabin for you. They added my name for no reason."
My head dropped at him in rising suspicion.
"Huh?" I exclaimed, blinking at him.
"That's about right, Callie. I didn't tell them to include my name."
I hesitated, scratching my head. I wasn't sure what to make out of this situation.
He shot me a concrete smile, holding my hand. I stared at him as he opened the door to the cabin, leading me inside.
I stood in awe at what should be the living area of the cabin, radiating off coziness and making me resist a yawn.
The living room space had a woollen rug, rustic fireplace and sofas with earthy brown tones --- embracing a typical, old wooden cabin.
Don's arms went on the back of my shoulders, snapping me back to reality. I blinked at his stone cold face, glancing at me with brittle coldness.
"Don...why are we here..? I don't understand all this..."
My breath fastened as his hold turned into a press against my back, making my heart squeeze into a total wreck.
He held my hand, leading me upstairs. I hesitated, but he gave me a small smile, the one that felt comforting to my skin.
In this moment I knew I could trust him.
We went upstairs, revealing the coziest bedroom i had ever seen in my life. It had the most comfy white sheets and bouncy mattress, with bedside lamps in a small relaxing space.
Oh gosh...how is this cabin so damn good...it left goosebumps down my body.
I sucked in the saliva, folding my arms.
