I snapped. All the energy mounting within me ended in a scream.
"Are you crazy!? You can't just shove in a ring and marry me! I am already fucking married!"
He grabbed my hand, pressing it hard. Tears dripped down my dress as I groaned.
"You really think I am that stupid?"
He questioned, his rough tone drumming louder than my heart rate.
I blinked, tears settling under my eyes.
The bodyguard handed him a set of papers. My heart dropped.
He kept the papers on the table, screaming,
"Look!"
I jumped, my eyes shooting at the papers.
The freshly printed letters ruled it loud and clear.
He leaned in, his minty breath making me cough.
He whispered, his tone cunning like a wolf.
"Read...read further."
My eyes went to the bottom. There were sections for two signatures, marked by a stamp.
My eyes grew wide, clutching the paper in a crumble.
I sobbed.
"There...there is my signature..."
He nodded, laughing from his throat,
"And your dear husband's as well."
And before I could think of anything else, he validated my thoughts.
"You both are officially divorced."
I stood up in protest, my heart beating out of my chest.
"How is this possible!? This is wrong! This has been done out of my own will--"
He barked, cutting me off,
"So you want to be Donnor's husband?"
"I---"
My words halted to a dead end.
Did I want to be Donnor's husband?
From the corner of my eyes, Taylor's pleading eyes caught my attention. He signalled his head in a no.
My breath accelerated. I didn't know what I should say.
I didn't want to be his wife. I wanted to get back to my mom.
I hated Donnor.
"Your silence says so much, Callie."
Gio's voice snapped me back to reality. I stared at him, tears dripping from my face.
"It's for the better..."
He whispered in my ears, grabbing me by my arms, interlocking with his. My eyes fell on our arms in horror.
"You can get rid of the fake marriage and stay with me instead. It's cool, isn't it?"
My throat grew dry as I watched him lead me towards Taylor. His black eyes appeared like black ashes as he stared at me.
"Pity Taylor is your friend..huh? He would make a great husband. Not like your terrorist, using you for his advantage."
Even though I already knew what he meant, my chest stung to hear it from someone else. My fists clenched.
Taylor's helpless eyes were screaming at me to find a way out of this. Tears formed in his eyes behind the sharpness of the knife inching closer to his neck.
