My eyes flickered, struggling to get them open. I had no idea where I was. I tried lifting my arms and legs, but they couldn't move.
"Ugh...." I let out a groan, wheezing.
"She is alive!!"
A thin, feminine voice came in the background, steering me in a terrible headache.
"Are you sure?"
Came another voice, a bit more manly but thin like the first one. I wanted to open my eyes and let them know i was alive, but my body felt too heavy, as if it has been run over by a truck.
A brush came against my arm, a sturdy hand attempting to pull me up.
I gasped, my body getting all prickly and painful in the muscles.
"She is responding. She is alive!!"
The first voice beamed as my eyes flickered in a sudden jolt, snapping open.
The surrounding hit me like a wave of bright light, dimming my eyes. I rubbed them, hoping they would wake up somehow.
"Are you okay?" The first thin voice hit my face, realising that the lady was now standing or sitting close to me.
I breathed, blinking as the light of the surroundings poured in a hurricane.
"Oh gosh!? Where am I!?"
I sat up, glancing around a circle of random strangers staring at me with their mouth hung open.
My grabbed my forehead, slapping it to rub off the tingly pain lingering underneath.
"You are in the hospital. Calm down."
A tall lady in her mind twenties stood beside me in a nurse uniform, the one who had a thin voice. She was holding a clipboard.
I glanced at the monitor and medicines kept to my side, realisation sinking in.
I stood up from my bed, my anxiety skyrocketing through the roofs as i held onto her hands.
"Nurse...where is Don.."
My voice dropped in a whisper about to break any second.
"I need to see him....is he doing okay?"
Her thin eyebrows slid up, the shades of her brown eyes turning blank.
My breath halted as uneasy silence creeped in the room.
She adjusted her wire rimmed spectacles.
"Excuse me, who?"
My chest tightened.
"Don! He was with me in the fire! In the elevator...I need to see him..."
She nodded, the one that said she had no idea what I was talking about.
Freaking out, I stormed out of the room against everyone's will, walking down the hospital's empty hallway.
My body wasn't in control. I wasn't thinking. Adrenaline pumped through my body in a floodgate.
The lights made a sound, flipping off. I didn't care that i couldn't see a thing in the dark. I walked down the stairs, finding the open gates of the hospital doors lit up by the boiling sun.
It was already the next day. The day of the execution of Plan to trap Gio.
A bunch of police cars caught my attention, parked on the other side of the road.
I stared at them as officer Kay stepped out of the first one with no warning, marching at me.
I kept my stance, staring at him as he stood a metre away from me, his arms folding.
