I threw the glass on the table. It cracked, catching the attention of those standing close by.

Smith's face appeared as if he had seen a ghost. I brushed past the people, apologizing as I rushed out of the party.

Warm air soaked my skin as I blinked back tears, standing with my arms folded.

The outside stood empty with no people around. The carpet was removed. All that was there was a garden on both sides dampened by the crisp moonlight.

I walked on one side, sitting on the bench. I rubbed my face, staring at the shimmering of the moonlight dripping my skin.

What is happening to me? Why did I lash out like that? Why does my whole body feel like it has been thrown into an ocean?

My chest puffed in the air, making me breathe harder. I couldn't relax myself. The blood pumping through heightened its peak.

"Hey. You seem a bit off, everything fine?"

A familiar voice rang in my ears, sending shivers down my spine. I jumped, my eyes shooting up at the man sitting beside me on the bench.

"You!?" I pointed my fingers, my jaw clenching hard.

The scar on his face turned dark under the night sky. The moonlight provided some light, but it wasn't enough to make the scar look any less devilish.

"Missed me?" He smirked, his jawline contemplating the dark angles of his face covered by the clouds.

My tightened fists loosened. I was descending into a different level of anger.

"Sure. You are my husband, after all, Gio."

He laughed, his voice echoing in the air.

"Glad to have finally found my wife. I heard Jasper took me away from you when I had knocked you out unconscious."

"Wait...you knocked me out?"

"I did. To get you into an interrogation. Torture you to get the location of the files."

My eyebrows knitted.

"There was no need to do that...I was about to bring the files to you anyway. But how did you find me here?"

He glanced at the moon, tilting his head.

"That's a good question. I heard about it from your dear friend, Donnor."

"Donnor!?" I exclaimed, a pang of pain subsiding my chest.

"Yes. How are you so shocked? He surrendered himself to me, remember? He tells me everything."

I stood up, my heart crumbling into bits. I folded my arms, my eyes staring at the grass.

Gio stood behind me, whispering in my ears,

"He told me he is coming to this party. He never told me why. I thought maybe you could help me tell why."

I turned, staring at him. I had no other way how to explain this---boiling in my stomach, the prickling in my skin and my chest squeezing...

I pressed my voice, walking away.

"Gio, I don't have any obligation to tell you anything. Since Donnor did rattle me out, why don't you ask him?"

He laughed like a maniac.

"Still trying to protect him, hmm, Officer Callie? What is going on?"

He came closer to me, his eyes soaring through me.

"I hope you are not developing feelings for another man while you are my wife."

Something inside me snapped. All the floodgates opened.
