I broke into a sob right then and there, clinging onto his chest, and shaking him in desperation.

"No! Taylor! Please wake up...you can't...you can't leave me like this...not now...please..."

Footsteps fainted down the hallway. The shadow with a bombed vest had left, trudging down the stairs in an echo. I blinked back tears, holding onto Taylor's wrist--the horror--a moment of truth to see if he was still breathing.

"Please...Taylor..."

I pressed my thumb against his warrior skin, holding my breath amidst the thumping of my heartbeat.

A faint pulse came.

I held him around his waist, trying to get him inside my room. The door couldn't open.

Did Donnor lock himself in?

I thumped the door, my heart racing. Maybe I should call for help instead of asking Donnor?

Taylor's mouth moved, but no words came out. I held his cheek, whispering,

"Taylor...please hold on...please..."

The door flung open, revealing Donnor's eyes landing on me. He brought me inside, closing the door.

I laid Taylor on the bed, checking his arms and legs, looking for the bullet.

Donnor joined me, observing his face.

"Where is the bullet? We need to work on the bleeding."

"I don't know...I can't find it...and he is not bleeding..."

I unbuttoned his shirt, observing his chest. My hands went through his trousers...looking for something... anything...desperately...

Donnor remarked,

"This is strange. No sign of a bullet or dart. Even a small prickle."

I gulped, glancing at Taylor's deteriorating state.

"Donnor...I don't think...I am sure that was the advanced weapon being used...there are no signs because the only symptom is internal bleeding."

"Wait...are you sure about that?" Donnor stood up, folding his arms.

I went to the telephone, hoping to call for an ambulance as I answered,

"Yes."

"What?"

I glanced at him, repeating his words.

"Didn't you hear what I said?"

He came closer, sitting beside me.

"I did hear what you said. But it doesn't make sense because there should be someone else shot as well."

The telephone fell from my hands. I stared at him in a state of panic.

He held my hand, forcing me to look at him.

"Hey, Callie, you gotta calm down. He didn't kill you. You were the one there."

"But...but...how..? Why? The weapon is built for killing two people at the same time..."

"Hang on."

He took a telephone, informing the person in line for a medical emergency. His hand remained on mine, squeezing it tight.

My thoughts ran like a bullet train. This mastermind wants me alive. He wanted me so that I could find the real source of the weapon, find the original one so that he could grab it.

And Donnor was locked in this room. He can't be that man. It wasn't Taylor.

Then who could it be?

"Probably Gio or Jasper, unless he escaped custody."
