"So, let me get this straight. Not only Donnor have a big secret, but he is apparently in possession of that weapon as well!?"

I hushed Taylor in panic, soon after the official left the bar with a stinky look on his face.

I didn't blame him. This place reeked of strong alcohol.

Taylor stroked his chin, giving me a rather sad nod.

"I am afraid, yes."

I blinked, rubbing my eyes in mental pain.

"What are we even supposed to do now? We need to get Donnor in jail. Forget about the secret. This is an emergency."

Taylor, on the other hand, had his head tilted.

"We can't Callie. The whole of America is on the verge of getting destruction, thanks to  this secret."

I breathed, peeking at the strip stage from behind. Donnor was sitting still, tapping his feet.

I argued,

"But the weapon will destroy the whole world, what's worse?"

Taylor sighed, holding my shoulders. His eyes were twinkling in the dimness.

"Callie, you have to find that weapon. We don't know if it's there. We can't do anything without evidence."

"What!? But the report literally says--"

Taylor interrupted me, softly dabbing his words.

"We are running on assumptions. It's a hypothesis. We have to prove it. We need more clues."

My chest grew tight as I glanced at his tense face - forehead creasing, lips tightening and cheeks growing hollow.

Nothing but silence spread for a good few seconds.

I heard a loud sigh of breath from his end. He whispered in a cracked voice,

"Callie, you are the closest to Donnor from the police end. You have to gain his trust and find clues. Both the secret which involves you and the weapon. We are running out of time."

"But---"

"There is no but. The team will be informed about our suspicion shortly. They will stay in touch. Good luck."

My heart fastened. He gave me a quick hug, leaving me all alone.

My eyes went down to the floor, my fists clenching, blinking back tears.

Rubbing my face and taking a few deep breaths, I arrived, sitting at the counter.

Donnor had his phone out, his fingers racking the phone screen.

I blinked around. Bar space, strip stage, a theatre place....of course there is no clock..

Adjusting my coat, I went over to Donnor, bumping into people as I did.

"Sorry!"

"Look where you are going!"

I stood beside him, holding my breath.

But he didn't look. He was busy texting someone.

I cleared my throat.

"Are we just supposed to wait?"

He said after a pause,

"Yes."

"Uh...so how are we going to get the Boulder brothers killed?"

His eyes shot up from his phone. The ice in his eyes was getting colder and colder.

"You are not part of the plan. Just stay at the bar counter, out of sight."
