?????

My heart jumped out of my chest in a rush of adrenaline. I glanced at him kneading the dough, his face as cool as a cucumber as if he nothing happened.

Nothing happened, my foot!

I grabbed his arm, pulling him, but he didn't budge. I blurted, my voice rising and rising above the mountains.

"Can you say it again? A date?"

He went to my slab, grabbing the bowl of water.

"Yes, a date, Callie."

My breath fastened. He for sure wasn't talking about that kind of...date?

I scratched my head, seconds away from pulling off my hair in a meltdown.

"You mean, like a calendar date?"

The corner of his lips pulled up in amusement. I folded my arms, my stomach curling in. He kept my bowl at his slab, grabbing containers labelled salt and sugar.

Was he TRYING NOT TO LAUGH AT ME!?

He faced me, holding the container right infront my eyes labelled "Salt"

He muttered, his voice rough edged,

"See this? You are acting like it."

He put the container down, showing me the other one labelled "Sugar."

He continued, his cheek pulling up.

"But I like it when you act this way."

I stood still, glancing at him as he kept the container, drawing his eyes closer to me, leaving an inch of a gap.

I exhaled, pinning my voice down on him,

"Why are you doing all this?"

He held my waist, pulling my body closer to his. His eyes spoke up of stormy glaciers and moving ice blocks.

The intensity he brought held the air hostage, sinking in the kitchen like a storm preparing itself.

Goosebumps ran down my body. Shivers ran down my spine. I don't know what was happening. What was this feeling? This rush? The eagerness to know his answer?

Why did i care so much? Why did I ask?

What is happening to me?

He held his fingers up at my face with such a drilling intensity, i flinched. His thumb brushed against the corner of my forehead, placing my misplaced flick behind my ears.

His brush left a line of fire on the canvas of my skin, burning it all down.

I blinked, my throat and shoulders tightening. Air around us dipped in his vanilla scent, turning my breath erratic.

His eyes remained fixated on me like one of his targets. So tense and focused, i couldn't catch my breath with the way I was drowning in them. It was like a magical spell. Like i was only his target.

His heavy eyes grazed my skin in a cold rain pour. I opened my lips to say something, but he shushed me down.

He held my hand like the way one holds a delicate flower, intertwining his cold wrath with the fire he made my skin immerse in every single time.

He brushed his face against mine, feeling all of me touch his smooth skin like a fragile, soft yet fiery flower melting itself with a strong, smooth, icy-cold flower consisting of rocky outlines.

And i....i let him sink his face against mine. It instilled a burst of energy, fire and power like a firefighter.

"You..." His honey voice warmed my ears as his nose rubbed against mine. He continued speaking into my ears, holding them by his thumb.
