Donnor, as if reading my mind, repeated himself, loud and clear -
"I am surrendering myself. Gio?"
Gio on the other hand had one of those faces of someone who had just seen a ghost.
I sat back on my bed, pretending not to pay attention to any drama going on.
Gio broke the silence after God knows how long.
"What do you mean? Uh--actually, i think i know what you mean."
My eyes landed on my phone lying on the floor. I picked it up, tapping some buttons.
"But why are you surrendering? You have your own empire - your everything."
There was a pause. A long pause before Donnor's voice came. My eyes shot to him standing.
"What everything? I don't have anything. My whole base caught fire. Many of our people died. I don't have much left."
I kept the phone on the bed, my eyes not leaving Donnor's sharp edged face.
He doesn't have much left? Didn't he tell me that he had people invading Boulder Brother's base all over the world? Also, doesn't he have the money to go to a five star hotel, limbo and a bridal room?
A lightening struck my mind. I tapped some buttons on my phone.
Gio's silence said it all. He wasn't sure. But he wasn't kicking him outright.
Donnor stepped closer to Gio, glancing at him in the eye. The guards standing behind him leaned in.
"You don't have to think much about it. You have the files, right? It contains everything. There is no way I can get it from you. You have Callie with you."
My eyes narrowed.
What was so important in those files? Those are just some case files on Donnor...
Gio's voice became lower.
"That's not the only problem. You know that."
My thoughts escalated to new heights. What were they rambling about? All i knew was about some secret, which seems to be in that file and now this is not the only problem?
I sneezed, breaking the tension in the room. All eyes went on me. I passed a plastered smile, my body curling inside.
I blurted,
"Continue....."
The guards rolled their eyes. Gio's eyes grew tight. One corner of his lips shot up.
I blinked. He faced Donnor, keeping his hand on his shoulders. That smirk flipped into a big, bright smile, making his cheeks pump with energy.
He stated, rather loudly,
"Actually, now that I think about it, I accept your surrender."
Donnor's face flashed something, but it went as soon as it came like a snippet of freezing wind.
I stood my ground, my mind racing.
"Actually, you can be my slave here."
"What!?"
The guards exclaimed, giving Gio a good stare. Donnor, on the other hand, remained poised and calm.
He bowed down, giving Gio a long nod. His voice? It remained the usual. Classic. Sweet.
"I accept it."
I stepped closer, not able to believe what I had heard. Gio cleaned his ears, gesturing Donnor to answer again. So did he, loud and clear.
