My eyes flew open, landing on the not-so-normal view above me.
"The heck!?" I blurted, my eyes sprinting around.
dim cabin lights, silence, and paired seats....
What am I doing on a damn flight!?
I glanced at the person sitting next to me, his face covered with a classic flight magazine.
"Hey! You! Wake up!"
I shook his shoulders, trying to get a read on him.
But he didn't move.
I grabbed the magazine from his face.
"Oh shit! You!?"
I couldn't believe this.
What was he doing here, sitting beside me? Where is everyone else?
"Why are you this shocked? I am here to help."
My eyes narrowed as soon as he dropped the word "help".
When did he last help me? Has he ever helped me? Can I trust him?
He brushed his messy hair back, his green gemstone eyes scanning the seats.
His body was a lot similar to Donnor's. Well built with muscles and all, but not an overkill. I thought he wouldn't survive the fire. But he was here sitting beside me on a flight after getting knocked out by Gio and his men.
But Jesus, why in the world was I comparing bodies!? What is wrong with me? This is not me!
I poked his chocolate brown shirt.
"Can you start by telling me what I am doing here? And what are YOU doing here?"
"Shhh! Stay put. Gio and his goons are in this same plane."
"What!?"
He leaned in, closing my mouth. His face stood closer, giving me a good view of all his features - sharp jawline, thick lips, straight eyebrows, and sunken cheekbones.
His face was sharp. I didn't notice it until now. A lot like Donnor's.
I nodded, quieting down. He pulled his hand away, muttering,
"Gio is planning to get those files from you. I heard it from them once they got out of the base with you unconscious."
I rolled my eyes, unsure if he was worth the trust.
"I already know that. Stop beating around the bush."
He faced me, grasping my attention.
"Here's the thing. He is going to the place to get those files with you."
My eyes narrowed.
"What? What place?"
His jaw tightened. He broke the eye contact, looking forward.
"Donnor's hideout in Hawaii. They are all burnt down, well, for the most part, but they believe you have hidden the file there."
"Huh?"
"Yes.."
I glanced at the window, my thoughts spiralling out of control. I had so many questions in my head. But first things first, what made them think the file is there...?
And where is Donnor? Is he helping Jasper?
I turned my head, poking him again. He faced me with magnified eyes, screaming for me to stay put.
"Where is Donnor? Is he here?"
He scratched his chin, pausing before answering.
"I don't know...but most likely, yes. But I saw you and heard the conversation, I knew I had to act."
