He faced his back against me, leading me out of his office to the other side.

My heart grew numb as my eyes pulsated on the other side, a couple of rooms greeting our presence.

This was wrong. I had to stop him. He was forcing himself. I was being forced. None of us wanted this.

So I did what my gut told me. I stopped, not following his lead as he kept going. I ran out of the place, hopping into the taxi I saw parked right outside.

I didn't realise my voice was shaky as i blurted,

"Anywhere else, please."

"Ma'am during this time we have star--"

"Just take me anywhere!! Don't you get it!?"

Silence shrunk in as the engine pulled off. I don't know why, but my heart drew to the window. I sucked in a breath, my eyes drawing at a tall man standing at the door, his icy eyes piercing right through me in shards.

Don.

My mouth flung open, all the energy in my body vanishing at his sight. He held his hand, his face getting smaller and smaller, turning into a blur as a turn came.

My heart dropped out of my chest in a shatter. A wreckage. Destruction.

Tears steamed my eyes in a hurricane. I sniffed like a child, pumping air down my hollow lungs.

My head dropped down against my lap. It felt like my whole world was spinning upside down.

What did i just do?

"Ma'am, we are here."

I blinked back tears, glancing at the taxi driver tightening his seat belt. My eyes ran down his chocolate hair, all messy and out of place.

"Ma'am?" He blinks at me, clicking his fingers.

"Oh!" I jumped, nodding.

"I am sorry, daydreaming got the best out of me."

I breathed, getting out of the car.

The sound of the engine going off blurred in the distance. I shivered as a crisp of chilly, cold air washed my skin.

I blinked, finding myself standing on an empty street with nothing but crippling silence burning my skin.

My heart squeezed into a ball at the stretch of a lush green field overlooking the starry lights of the city down ahead.

I walked, my heart thumping out of my chest as the view led me astray.

The city appeared like a fairytale, with the blinking lights and faint sound transport bustling the cold atmosphere.

My stomach sank in a sea.

What was i doing at a place like this?

"Hey."

I spun at the voice, finding a familiar face standing beside me.

There wasn't anything much but a faint streetlight off a distance ---- his face, amidst the view of the city and the dull glow of the streetlight, made him look ethereal, a god of humanity and mankind.

The edges of his face, his icy eyes and strong jawline, everything felt the exact opposite. It felt warm.

I breathed, a moment of tension piling up between us. My lips curled in. I held myself back, my eyes drawing back at the blinking city lights.

"What are you doing here? I want you to--"

"I am not leaving."

I blinked at his unmoving eyes, my chest tightening into a cage.
