Yashmin's POV
Mom, Dad, grandmother and I went into the car. It seem my first kill was actually happening. Even if it wasn't who I wanted it to be. We drove to a forest by the road side. We all got out of the car with intentions of heading deep into it.

I wasn't so fond of the idea. As the darkness in the forest was thick although small areas of it was sliced by beams of light.

"Anybody brought a flashlight?", I asked.

Nobody responded. Absolutely no one. It felt as if my question was guilty of a crime it wasn't charge with but everyone around me knew it was guilty. I held my head down.

I watched as my mom eyes started to glow her that pretty oceanic blue and she transformed into a shadame (name of her ghostly form). I waited for grandma and dad to do something special but they choose to continue as they were.

I stumbled as I attempted to walk off into the darkness. Dad looked at mom as if he were saying I told you so.

"Take your shadow form child and make it easier on yourself", advised my mother.

So I did just that. Wait the darkness that was once around me vanished completely. I could see in the forest the way I see everything in daylight. We continued to make our way deep into the forest until we stopped.

I don't know which animals my dad expected to be out at this time of the morning. It was 1:30  for God sakes.

"There", said my dad. "You can hunt that."
I looked in the direction he point and saw a dog.

"Dad am not eating no dog."

My dad sighs before responding, looking again. I looked and there it was a deer. But what was a deer doing put this hours of the Nighy. Although I must say, I am glad it didn't choose to sleep tonight.

I made my way towards it......slowly and gently but it didn't move. It was like it was injured.

I knee down before it and realized I didn't know what would come next.

"What do I do now?", I asked my dad.

"You must bite into it and drain its blood. But not in that form."

I shifted from being a shadowling in a my human form. I opened my mouth and waited on my fangs but pop out but they did. "How do I get my fangs out", I asked my dad.

"This is really bad. Having a princess vampire who can't get her fangs out", said grandma Jones to dad.

In that same instant the smell of blood dance across my nose. My fangs came down. I look down at the animal fear in its eyes but it didn't matter. I bit down into its leg as order as I could. But blood suppose to taste this bad, I thought to myself as the water liquid fill my mouth.

Within a minute of consuming its blood, I felt something came over me, something I couldn't identify. I looked up from the deer and realized I was seeing everything clearly  without the aid of my ghost side and in the distance I could hear dogs barking.
It was so overwhelming I closed my eyes and covered my ears. As soon as it settled I returned to drinking blood from the animal.

"You can stop now", said my dad. "It is done."

I heard what he said but I didn't want to stop. The blood I once detested, that ran bitter in my throat. Now tasted like good.

"Stop", growled my father at me.

I held up my head and tight my grip on the animal. I felt and heard its bones snap under the pressure of my grip.

Wait what I said to myself.

"It would seem, your daughter has discovered her strength", said my grandma with a proud look on her face.

My mom just stood quietly looking at me.

I glanced down on the deer and then on my father. He looked at me as if it was willing me not to. I attempted to and I thought I had succeeded in defying my father until I realized my opened mouth was resting upon his hand.

"Yash, I said stop!", he shouted at me. I was about to listen then I thought what kind of vampire would that make me submitting to my dad's wishes without a fight.

I looked at him as my lips curled up in a smile.

"Don't you dare ", said my dad.

I shifted slightly and that's when everything went dark.

Yashshauna's POV
I was surprised by the series of events unraveling before me. I have never seen my child openly defy her Dad. And I had never seen my husband raise a hand against his child until today. I thought as I saw Yash on the ground.

The way Muron hit her knocked her out cold. He turned to look at me and I waited to meet the gaze of his eyes.

Wait something is happening, "Muron", I shouted. I saw him running towards me but before he could reach me my vision went dark and I was out cold.
