Yashmin's POV
Mom was surely hard on me. I wonder where was all this fire when they were taking away her powers. I thought to myself as Leona had I hugged good bye.
"Mom", I said attempting to speak.
"It is already done", she said in an attempt to silence me.
"Well good", said my granddad "because they are almost here", he said.
"Ok", answered my dad.
This was the reason it sucked being a child in this family. You are always left out of the loop. Things will be happening and you be the last to know about it.
"What, which they are you talking about?", asked my mom.
My smile lit up from ear to ear, finally I am not the only one who was unaware of secret family happenings.......I thought to myself. How do like it now mom, I taunted to myself. Only exposing the smile across my face while keeping my inner most thoughts hidden.
Granddad turn to faced her and then he spoke, "Sure you remember Dew, Mark, Lily and Lilian"
"Who?" , asked my mom.
I was almost certain I knew those names, but I couldn't put a face to a single one.
"Next in line along with Yashmin here to head the families. Just as you will take over from me when I die; and Yashmin from you when you die. Dew, Mark, Lily and Lilian is meant to take over from the family heads."
"Right grandpa but it isn't as simple as that, right. As I am meant to be chief and head of all the families", I said.
My grand father chuckled as my mom turned to face me with a look of astonishment on her face. I know I was in for a stern talking to but grandad intervene before she couldn't.
"Well yes it is your birth right to be chief and head of all families, as it is your mom's. The McClearies have always been chiefs. However don't let that get to your head. Don't think you are above or better than anyone. As chief you belong to your people. Its not a responsibility to be taken lightly", he said.
"Most importantly, your are not to take part in arguments concerning adults, you are a child and this isn't a childish matter", said my mom.
Of course she would try to make me feel like a child. My mom was a little petty. She always liked to let me know who was in charged.
I watched my granddad eye lit up and glowed a beautiful rainbow of blue, red, green and yellow. Whenever he did that I know it had something to do with being chief. I cant wait to inherit those rainbow eyes.
He then closes his eyes as if it was a way for him to focus and then he reopened them and his eyes was back to that dull old oceanic blue that the McClearies all wore sp well. Then he spoke, "they are here."
"Good", said my dad as they all head outside where a silver Toyota wish and a voxy was parked outside
I watched as granddad walked up and stand in the middle of the two vehicles waiting for the people to exist.
My mom was logging behind so my dad pulled her gently along.
I watched as a total of ten persons existed the cars.
In total three families.
"Yashshauna Mcleary", said one of the woman as they looked my mom up and down.
"Melisa McMelon", hissed my mother.
The McMelon lady closed her eyes and open them and they glowed a bright red before returning to the previous brown. Wait her eyes were brown. I thought....well you know what I thought.
"I hear you are powerless Cousin", said Melisa hitting back.
"I can still take you without them. And if it wasn't for the love and respect I had for uncle Monroe, I would."
"Relax girls, now is not the", said my dad.
"Come Murron, let's show them to their new home", said grandad.
I watched as Melisa her family got the house directly facing us on the other side of the road, the McIntosh directly to our left and the Mccains to the McMelons' right.
All house that I thought was previously occupied.
We then left them to get settled. As we head back to our house where Sarafena was waiting.
Sarafena never seems to leave my granddad's side and I never been fond of the dusty little witch. If you see granddad and he is alone, just know Sarafena isn't too far behind.
We were back inside and I noticed the adults were sneaking away but I was too intrigued by the noises outside. The moving trucks were unloading so I lingered at the window.
Finally I would have kids like myself next door. I thought as I peered out through the grills and ultimately the glass. I wonder if there moms and dads hid things from them too.
Yashshauna's POV
"Dad when, how did you do this?", I asked.
"Not me, Murron did. He called up your mother in law and she had all of this arranged and here we are", he answered.
"So meanwhile I was busy being trapped and stripped of all my powers. You guys were here going about business as usual. Meanwhile I was in danger", I asked.
"Young lady, your tone don't really sound as if you are grateful. Murron did you a favor. Making sure you kept your promise to the families and this is how you show your gratitude", said my dad in an unsettling tone.
"I didn't mean it like that dad. I just meant I wanted to be apart of it", I answered.
"Well it's done and we couldn't wait. We are almost finished relocating the rest of the village. The others are to stay together but the heads of the family and the ones next in line must stay away. Including you and Yashmin so if the village is attacked again. You all will be fine", said my dad. "Now be my big girl and look after them here. I got to go. Sarafena and I must attend to something."
"But Dad I am still without my powers, and Don't leave me yet", I said frowning.
He embraced me into a hug, "Don't be silly, I'll be back in two days for that diner, Murron promised to throw for Melisa and the others. As a official welcome to the community", he said as he held up my chin.
"Besides you have got to know your mother loves you and you were in any actually danger", said Sarafena before she held on to my dad's arm and they vanished in thin air.
Muron's POV
Mr McCleary and Sarafena had just left and my fear sunk in as I knew I was about to be in trouble with my wife.
