Yashmin's POV
I hugged my mom in an effort to comfort her. But I really wanted her to stop crying so she could tell me who took them, how it is even possible and how we we take them back.
I was angry and needed revenge on the person who made my mother cried. So many years I have been here and not once have I ever saw my mother cried.
Although I think she is more worried about me than herself. My dad gave me a look and I knew it was his time to step in.
Since he is always accusing me of taking too much of his wife's time.
I watched as my dad lifted her up from the couch in his arms and headed towards their room.
I felt sorry for my granddad being deprived of his child at this time but everyone knew better than standing in my dad's way when it came to my mom.
We all wanted to be there for her but we had to wait until my dad was done; he had always been this selfish with his wife. To the point where it is irritating.
Murron's POV
"Sssssh my love, it is fine. We will get pass this", I whispered in her ear as I carried her to our room."Murron how could she, especially now when I need it to protect my family", she said as tears stream down her face.
"Who?".......I asked.
"My mother", she continued.
"Wait your mother did this, why? What aren't you telling me?", I asked her.
"Not just my mom but it was her idea. It isn't meant as my punishment for traveling into the spirit realm and taking you along."
At this point I had just entered our room. Where I placed her gently on the bed.
Upon hearing what she had to say. I was as confused as I was angry. I started pacing back and forth.
"Why would they do such a thing at this point?"
"It's ok babe, I gladly accept the punishment for what I have done. Because I would of done it again. I think they are just angry because it's a skill they don't possess but I thought my mom of all persons would understand what it means to protect a child at all cause."
"Wait I am confused, I thought it was a natural ability of your kind"
"It isn't......the members of my maternal ancestral lines and paternal lines are incapable of traveling into the spirit realm. It is a skill that only the first four possess. They thought it had died out completely until I was born. But at first i couldn't control it. I would be called into it by unkind vengeful spirits trying to trap me there. Sometimes I would wonder there mistakenly or when I did go voluntarily; I couldn't find my way back."
I looked at her unable to find words to say. She knew me very well so she continued talking.
"So the council had banned it, they claimed it was to protect me but it was more a way to hold me and anyone else who developed this ability back. It was deemed unsafe."
"So this is your punishment, I am assuming it is temporary, right?"
"It is", she answered.
"Well don't worry, I will protect us. Besides we just moved. Nobody knows where we are. We are safe. And if we aren't, let's just say dead body counts are about to go up."
It was like something dawn on her. She dried her tears and scrambled to her feet. "You are right" she said as her face lit up in a smile.
"You ready then?", I asked her.
"Yes, then let's go", I said as I hold on to her hands interlocking our fingers together to head down stairs.
On our way down we could hear voices chattering, At first I thought it was just the family discussing our dilemma but as my foot left the last stairs; I saw Leona and Yashmin hugging each other tightly in the door way and Leona's mom next to them.
"I gave out a loud "What?".............that drew everyone's attention.
"Mr and Mrs Jones, I hope this is alright. Leona had been worried about her friend, so she asked me to drive down and you know how it is with your only child. You would do anything to keep that light in her smile", said Leona's mom.
However I was too dumbfounded to speak. I stood there, looking at them as if I would get the answers I need.
"But how did you even know, where we are?", asked Yashshauna.
"Yashmin gladly gave Leona the direction to your house, the minute she told her we were coming", she answered.
"Did she", said Yashshauna as she glared at Yashmin.
It was then we knew our plan to hide and wait out whatever was happening to us of late; had just crumbled.
Somebody could of followed them here. This child just does not understand that she is in danger. I refuse to believe she is this stupid. We gave her strict instructions and she did what she wanted regardless.
I watched my wife's action closely as I wait on her to unraveled.
"Since you all are here anyway, let's go into the living room", said my wife.
I stood my ground absolutely shocked at first but then she continued. "Seeing that Yashmin is grounded for a month. After you see her here today. No phone calls, no cell phones, no nothing, just her breathing O2."
Yashmin opened her mouth to challenge her but then.........she just paused and redirect her attention to her friend.
I myself think she realized the risks associated with fighting back was too high, especially after hiding and inviting her friend here. So she just fall in line instead of fighting.
My body may have been seated with them physically but mentally I wasn't there. I was busy analyzing my surroundings; trying to secure any warning of incoming danger through my enhanced vampire abilities.
Word from author
At this point I am upset with Yashmin. Why would she exposed her family like that by not listening to her parents; they are sure to be uncovered soon enough.
