Morgan Grace
Huminto na ang sinakyan naming van kaya naman nagbabaan na kami. Pagkababa ko ay napatingin ako sa mataas na building na nasa harapan ko. I somehow felt suffocated being this close sa building na ito dahil nung hulis beses akong nagpunta rito, it felt like my whole life ended.
"Morgan" Monique called me kaya napalingon ako sa kanya.
"What?"
"Don't play your dirty little tricks here, baka mamaya mang akit ka na naman so you can win, you know-just like what you did to Sir Greg"
"Excuse me, Monique, I didn't do anything, hindi ko na kasalanan kung gusto ako ni Greg"
"Sabi mo eh" nag roll eyes pa ito. "Let's go team!" sabi nya sa mga kasama nya.
"Hayaan mo na yang si Monique, may sayad na ata yan dahil sa sobrang inggit sayo" sabi sakin ni Patricia kaya napangiti ako.
Muli akong napatitig sa building na nasa harapan ko.
The JS Group Building.
It's been years pero parang kailan lang nangyari ang lahat. Hindi ko alam kung bakit ipinilit pa nila David na dito na kami magsipasok since may vacant space daw sila at dahil mas makakatipid ang finance namin, rather than renting our own office space ay pumayag sila sa kagutuhan ng client namin.
Nakahinga ako ng maluwag ng hindi ko kilalang guard ang nasa ibaba para mag check sa amin.
We were told that our office space will be on the 5th floor.
"Nasaan yung elevator?" tanong nung isang staff ni Monique.
"My God! Ask the security kaya!" sagot ni Monique.
"Team, let's go this way" I told my staff bago ako lumiko after ng receiving area. Naramdaman ko namang nagsi sunuran silang lahat sakin.
There we found the service elevator.
"Hindi tayo kasyang lahat sa isang ride, yung iba, you'll have to wait-
"Why? Meron namang isa pang elevator dito ha?" Tanong at turo ni Monique sa elevator na katapat lang ng elevator na sasakyan namin.
"That is for the bosses lang, sa may ari" I told them.
I pressed the button of the elevator for the regular employees.
"How did you know that? And the location of this elevator?" napahinto ako sa tanong ni Monique.
I closed my eyes. What were you thinking Morgan? Dahan-dahan akong humarap at ngumiti sa kanila.
"Hehe ang obvious kaya, kita mo naman agad" I told them and thankfully bumukas na ang elevator kaya naman gumilid ako. "Monique mauna na kayo ng team mo"
She just rolled her eyes bago pumasok sa elevator.
"Grabe ang dali-dali lang naman malaman at mahanap nung elevator, mukhang gagawin pang big deal ni Monique" Patricia told me.
"Oo nga, hayaan mo na Ma'am Morgan, OA lang palagi yun" sabi ni Dennis, ang aking creative director.
"Tayo naman, akyat na tayo" sabi ni Michael - isa sa mga digital artists ny team ko.
Bumukas ang 5th floor, hindi na ako pamilyar sa lugar na ito dahil mukhang bagong renovate ito.
"We are taking this spot" sabi ni Monique ng nakahalukipkip habang turo turo ang mga desk sa unahan. Ito yung mabubungaran mo pagbukas mo ng elevator. May dalawang glass meeting room na pwede naming gamitin, the rest ay cubicle-cubicle kami. Fully air-conditioned ang buong floor at malamig.
"Fine" yun lang ang sagot ko. "Team let's occupy the cubicles at the back please, mag settle na kayo and will have a quick meeting in 15 minutes"
"Yes ma'am"
I occupied one of the biggest cubicle here na malapit sa meeting room, ganoon din si Monique.
Tinext ko si Annie na nakarating na ako sa opisina at nag ask ako ng update kay Samuel.
"Miss mo na agad yung anak mo no?" tanong ni Patricia sakin, sya ang nasa katabi kong cubicle.
"Palagi, oras-oras" sagot ko.
"Kahit ako ang magka anak ng ganoon kagwapo ay malamang hahanap hanapin ko din. Wala ka atang lucky picture nya na madalas dini display mo sa table mo"
I pulled the picture from my bag.
"Nandito but I am not planning na ibalandra dito tutal hindi naman natin ito permanent office" sagot ko.
"Right" Pat answered kaya naman tinago ko na ulit ang picture ni Samuel.
"Everyone, please grab some coffee" a young guy with glasses came out of the elevator at sa likod nito ay ilang mga JS Group employee na may dalang kape. "I am Jonathan, secretary of Mr. David Jameson"
Oh may secretary na pala sya, I didn't know that. What the hell? Malamang hindi na ako updated, it's just that, hindi nya kailangan ito before because I used to do everything for him.
"Ay ang shala naman may pakape" Yna, one of Monique's staff commented.
"Welcome gift ba ito ni Sir David?" Craig asked, head of design ni Monique.
"You can say that" Sagot ni Jonathan.
I just focused on opening my laptop para makapagsimula na kami, tutal ayoko namang magkape dahil ina acid talaga ako lately.
"Coffee, Ms. Morgan?" napatingala ako nung lumapit si Jonathan sa table ko.
"Thank you but I don't really want to drink coffee right now, medyo ina acid ako"
"I see, thank you" Jonathan then moved to the rest of my team at bumalik na ko sa pagsi set up ng laptop ko.
Nahinto lang ako ng may maglapag ulit ng kung ano sa table ko.
"Sorry, I don't really like coff-
I was cut off ng makita ko kung sino ang nasa harapan ko.
David Pierce Jameson.
I immediately stood up to greet him.
"S-sir David" I greeted him. Hindi ko alam paano ko nakakayang salubungin ang tingin nya. "G-good morning"
"Morning" he greeted me back. "Good morning everyone"
"No coffee? You can have this juice instead" he told me as he tapped the juice na nilapag nya.
I was lost for words. It was just a juice pero if he is doing this because he knows coffee is bad for me, then I don't know what to think.
"You're giving me juice while everyone is having coffee, hindi ba weird iyon Sir David?" I asked him directly.
He looked at me straight in the eyes and smiled.
"Don't feel too special Morgan. I gave you and Monique the same drink since you are both team leaders of my advertising campaign" he then pointed at Monique who proudly raised her juice drink.
My heart started to feel that sting. I know what he is doing, he is trying to use our memories to torment me!
Napalunok ako ng marinig ko ang mahinang tawanan ng mga katrabaho ko. Nakakahiya! Bakit din kasi nag a assume pa ako!
"Well, it's better to be clear, thank you for your juice but I'm drinking coffee today" just right on queue ay dumaan si Jonathan at mabilis kong inagaw ang kape nya. "Now if you don't mind Sir David, my team and I will be having our meeting para matapos na ho namin itong campaign na kailangan mo" I turned my back on him.
He just smirked at me. What an asshole!
"Don't rush. Kilala akong strict when it comes to what I want" he told me.
I turned around to face him, this time nakabusangot na talaga ako.
"I will do our best to give you what you want SIR"
"I know what I want, just be ready because I won't stop until I get it"
