"He rejected it again" umupo si Patricia sa tabi ko, she looked so down, that made me feel so bad.
"Pat" I called her
"I'm sorry, at this point, I don't think mananalo pa tayo kila Monique, siguro we should accept that"
"Kakausapin ko sya" tumayo na ako at ramdam ko ang pagsunod ng tingin sakin ng mga staff ko.
Mabilis akong dumiretso papalabas ng hallway at saktong naabutan ko si David, Jonathan, and Monique doon.
"Ma'am Morgan" Jonathan greeted me right away. Hindi ko alam, I feel like he's on edge or hiyang-hiya sya kapag nakikita ako.
"Sir David" I called him, tumingin naman sya sakin at ganoon din si Monique.
"Can't you see I'm still talking to our boss, Morgan? Where's your manners?" nakataas na ang kilay nito. "So, are you available sir, birthday ko kasi this weekend"
What? Seriously? Is she flirting with him?
"I'll check my calendar and text you" David answered.
Wow, okay. Ano bang ie-expect ko sa kanila.
"Super! I'll wait for that, mag back to work na ako sir" sabi ni Monique na ngiting-ngiti, nung daanan ako nito ay nag roll eyes pa ito.
"Pwede ka bang makausap?" I asked him, nagpamulsa ito at humarap sa akin.
"Iwanan mo na muna kami" he ordered his secretary na mabilis namang tumalima. "What?"
"It's wrong for me to assume pero you are being unfair to my team" I started.
"Me? Unfair?" he smirked at me.
"Alam ko namang galit ka sakin pero hindi tamanag madamay ang trabaho ko, lalong lalo na ang hardwork ng mga staff ko! We know it, you know our campaigns are way better than Monique's team pero patuloy mo kaming nirereject or dini delay!"
"You're right, your team's work is amazing but I just can't see myself approving a team lead by a vicious woman like you"
Kusang nalaglag ang panga ko dahil sa sinabi nya.
"Vicious? Hindi naman ata tama yan" iniwas ko ang tingin ko dahil kusang sumsakit ang puso ko sa mga salitang binibitiwan nya.
"You want me to approve and give this project to your team?"
Nag angat ako ng tingin dito.
"Why don't you step down and let Patricia handle the whole thing? Or mas better, mag resign ka na"
"D-david, I-I need this job, kailangan ko ang trabahong ito, I need to win this project for many reasons especially financially"
Hindi ako pwedeng magresign, hindi pwedeng hindi ko makuha ang project na ito. The commission and my recommendation for UK lies here. Paano ko patuloy na masusustentuhan si Samuel kung wala ang trabaho na ito, at hindi sya tuluyang gagaling kung hindi kami makakaalis ng bansa.
"Well then, there's nothing I can do for you Ms. Mendoza"
"David, please?" I don't care if I sound like I am begging.
"Is this your way now Morgan? Ganito ka din ba sa mga lalaking kalandian mo? Do you beg them as well?"
Ipinikit ko ang mata ko, maling kinausap ko pa sya. He's so full of anger and bitterness towards me.
