"Tito, wag na po kayong magalit kay David, I am sure hindi nya gusto ang nangyari" Mariya came close to my father and tried to calm him down.
"Anong hindi?! He planned everything, hindi man lang sya nagsabing in acquire nya ang kumpanya kung saan nagta trabaho ang babaeng yun! He lied to you as well hija!" my father gave me a disappointed look.
"Dad, ayoko ng magpakasal" diretso kong sabi dito. Napahawak agad si Mariya sa bibig nya.
"What?! Nasisiraan ka na ba ng ulo?! Alam mo ba yang sinasabi mo?! That Morgan, left you for another man! I am sure pera lang ulit ang gusto nya! Hindi mo ba natatandaan how everything fell apart nung iniwan ka nya! You almost killed yourself hindi ba?!"
Nanatili akong nakatingin sa ama ko as the memory of what happened flooded my mind.
"Hindi ba halos bumagsak ang negosyo natin dahil hindi mo alam kung paanong magsisimula ulit?! I had to come back to the company to help you and all along sino bang kasama mo to rebuild yourself, it's Mariya anak! She's a good match for you. I want someone who loves you and will stand by you no matter what! Hindi tulad ng babaeng yun! She don't deserve you! You don't need her!"
"You're right dad, I don't need her" I said in defeat. "But she is who I want"
"David, no!" mabilis na lumapit sa akin si Mariya. "You don't know anything about her, ang dami kong nalaman sa babaeng yun, David, please diba? We agreed to tie the knot these year diba?"
"Mariya" I called her name.
"No, no, don't do this to me, please naman?" she is begging, dahan-dahan itong lumuhod sa harapan ko.
"Mariya, hija!" napatayo na ang ama ko. "David! Must you go this far! Must you hurt this innocent woman!"
Huminga ako ng malalim, naririndi ako sa iyak ni Mariya at ang sunod-sunod na pagsasalita ng ama ko.
"Hinding-hindi ko matatanggap ang babaeng yan! Gusto mo bang kalabanin ako at ipahamak ng tuluyan yang dati mong asawa!"
Masama kong binalingan ng tingin ang ama ko. My anger is building up at alam kong malapit ko na itong masagot.
I was about to answer back ng magulat ako ng biglang tumumba si Mariya sa paanan ko. Nawalan ito ng malay.
"Mariya" I tried to shake her. "Wake up!"
"I'll call my guards, dalhin natin sya sa ospital" my father commanded.

"Kamusta ang aking future daughter in law, doc?" my father asked the attending doctor.
"Sir Jameson, magiging daughter in law nyo po pala ang nasa loob, I will ensure na she will be attended by the best nurse. Sir David" she greeted me. "Ms. Natividad, is okay now, mukhang fatigue lang naman but we will still run some test for her"
Morgan left the house last night after our argument, I am not even sure why she fainted and now it bothers me. If I must, I will drag her to get checked. Bahala na kung anong iisipin nya.
"She is looking for Sir David" sabi ng doktor.
"Akala ko pa naman ay may good news na" my father told the doctor kaya kumunot ang noo ko.
