A new friend

Me and Miles got along surprisingly well, and it was nice seeing someone be so interested in vessels. I didn't actually tell him what I was, I was still too worried about how he'd react. I hadn't exactly made many friends in a while, let alone really ever. I barely even could consider Moon a friend yet, so having someone be willing to talk to me about something people are usually wary about was nice. I didn't really wanna scare him away this soon.

I actually managed to find out quite a lot more answers to stuff than what I originally knew. Turns out vessels can actually be born into human families, though it was very rare. So there was a possibility my parents had actually been my real parents.

"So, why are you so interested in vessels anyways?" I had asked as we were looking through some of the books. "Dunno, they've just kinda always been neat to me, y'know? What about you?"

"Kinda the same thing, I've always been considered the weird kid for being interested in like monsters and the vessels and stuff like that." Miles chuckled a bit. "Guess we really do have quite a bit in common, huh?" I couldn't help but smile a bit under my mask. "Guess so. Y'know, I don't think I've ever seen you around, are you new here?"

Miles shook his head. "Nah, I just don't get out much. And what about you? I know I've never seen you around." I just laughed a bit and shook my head. "Oh you definitely have, just not like this. I've lived here for like, 3 or 4 years now I think. I just didn't look like this."

"Fair enough I guess." He said with a chuckle. "Wait, I just realize you've never told me how old you are, I can't exactly see your face so I'd like to make sure I'm not talking to a literal child." He had a point there, and I couldn't help but laugh a bit. "I'm 18, don't worry."

"Ok ok good, that would've been real awkward because I'm 20, and that could've just gotten real awkward real fast." Oh shit, yeah that would've been real awkward. "Oof, yeah, that would've been kinda weird."

Me and Miles continued to chat before a bit, before we both noticed it was getting a bit late. "Ah shit, I should probably get going." I said getting up and gathering up a couple of the books so we could put them away. "You got a curfew or something?" I shook my head. "No, but I'm kinda living with my one friend and I didn't really tell her I was leaving. Last time I was gone for a while she had to find me passed outside. Don't ask, long story."

"Oof yeah, she'll probably get worried if you're gone for too long. Maybe we could meet up again sometime? I could give you my phone number so we can continue to stay in contact." I smiled a bit, glad to have finally made a friend on my own, let alone one that seemed so nice. "Sure! Here, I have my phone on me you can put you number in if you'd like."

I handed him my phone, and after he put his number in, I texted him just a quick 'hi :)' so he had my number as well. "Well, talk to you later!" I said before heading out. I walked back to the woods, before teleporting back to my old house. I found my old clothes and folded them up, deciding to just leave them here and wash them tomorrow.

I took the mask off, also deciding to just leave it there. I knew I'd be coming back here later, it felt wrong not to. I teleported back to the castle, finally realizing how much energy teleporting really took up because goddamn I felt really tired. I just went over to the couch and sat down, before checking my phone notifications. I saw Miles had texted me back, so I decided since it didn't seem like Moon was home I'd just talk with him for a little while until she got back.

{Bit of a shorter chapter this time but it's kinda just a direct continue from my last one since my lovely friend @FanFicLover6982 had left their last chapter on a cliffhanger. They are also the creator of Moon and this au. And don't worry I promise yall will get a description of Miles I just haven't actually made his design yet}
