{Quick A/N! Hello! I'm finally back to writing this lol. I know this is going to sound crazy strange, but with school starting soon, I should be back to writing more. I've been having a slight case of summer depression, which really is just making my motivation to do much of anything very low. I do hope to continue on with this book, and my friend, who reminder is the creator of this au, is also working on her book again as well! I'm really excited for all the future plans with this, and I hope y'all enjoy having this continued. Mind you, this chapter is gonna be a tad short, as I still don't have a whole lot of motivation still, just enough to get this little idea out there.}
{Lucifer's POV (First person:)}
With Eris gone for now, I felt safer about removing the control over Fable. I of course double checked and made sure she was okay, before going over to then check on Moon. Tav had set her down over by a tree, and was now over talking with Kit, so I figured I'd at least make sure. Truthfully, it was probably just parental instincts, but hey, it can't hurt to make sure the others are okay, especially after a fight like that.
She seemed mostly fine though, which was actually pretty surprising. I decided to just leave her be for now, since she clearly needed the rest she was now getting. I knew I needed to also make sure the actual terrain damage was at least fixable by some miracle, so I went over to check the actual damage. With how bad it was, I was glad I had the ability to fly. Despite the damage being completely catastrophic, it wouldn't be impossible to fix, just needed the help of another certain god. Are you sure trying to get him to help is really a good idea? You know how his host is. I heard Reaper chime in. Well we don't exactly have another option right now, so we're gonna have to try. It's not safe to leave the land like this, and he's our only option.
The god of Life was someone I'd only ever met a few times. His host was.. well less than pleasant to deal with. He was not exactly a fan of having to work with other people, and also didn't like me very much. Do I know why this is? Not at all, but it's truthfully not a big matter to me.
Before leaving, I made sure the let the kids know where I was going, since Tav and Kit had still been talking. If the two were confused on where I went, at least someone was there to tell them.
Life was interesting, for one, I didn't even actually know his name. He just says to call him Life, so I do. Another thing, is much like me, he doesn't have a home universe, but unlike me, he doesn't universe hop. He has his own little realm that he created to live in. Being a God myself, I'm able to access it, which was convenient at least. Though he was certainly not pleased with me showing up.
"What is it you want now, Death?" He said, more or less as a greeting. Harsh much for a greeting, but whatever. "Well hello to you too, Life. I've got a bit of an issue down in one of the universes. Couple of vessels got into a pretty bad fight and all the terrain is messed up. I would just leave it as is, but I'd rather not leave a terribly dangerous area left just out in the open where any mortal could get severely hurt at."
He took a moment, before responding with a sigh. "Fair enough. Alright, lead the way I suppose." I nodded, then created a portal back to where the others were all at.
{Life's POV (First person:)}
After going into the portal Lucifer created, I noticed a few others in the area. I didn't recognize any of them right off the bat, but after a few moments of looking at them, I could figure it out. Right away though, I was able to spot the issue Lucifer mentioned. Yeah I could see why he came and got me for this.
I went over, double checking where all the damage actually was, being using just a touch of magic to be able to move around and fit the pieces of land back together properly. Soon enough, it looked like nothing ever happened here. Geez, I don't think I've seen a fight ever leave this much damage. I heard my other half say. Wonder who it was a fight between. I just shrugged, before walking back over to where Lucifer was. "There, that's fixed up. Anything else you need before I go?"
He just simply shook his head before responding. "Nope, that's as of now. Thanks for the help, Life." Gods that name was starting to make me actually cringe hearing it directed at me. "Eugh. Ok telling you to call me Life was literally the worst decision I have ever made and I'm realizing that now. Esther. My name is Esther. Please stop calling me Life, kay thanks." He just simply chuckled a bit at the reaction, but nodded. "Alright, alright."
With that, I left without another word, needing to get my thoughts together. Why did I tell him that? Out of literally nowhere? Why did it feel so.. gods I dunno embarrassing? Telling him my name was something I never planned to do. We're not friends. He shouldn't deserve to know this information, right?
Jeez, you need to chill. It's your name, it's not the end of the world. Life said, interrupting my train of thoughts. Easy for you to say. My name has never been something I just tell people, especially if it's someone I don't like. And with having an easy job title I can use as a name instead, I never planned on telling him.
Oh come on, you're being dramatic Esther, it's not gonna kill you. So what, he knows your name. You hate being called Life anyways. Plus, you're gonna have to keep working with him in situations like these. That's just how the jobs of Life and Death are, always intertwining.
I flopped onto my bed with a groan, knowing that no matter how much I wanted to deny it, Life was right. I couldn't avoid him forever, no matter how much I wanted to hate him. I hate it when you're right about these things.
You just hate being wrong.
