{Lucifer's POV (First person):}

I had been in one of the castle's many libraries when Fable, the ghost child who had followed us here, came in, seemingly having been looking for me. I had really just been looking around, seeing what kind of books Nightmare had left. I also just had needed something to do while the others got some rest after all that had happened.

They kind of just sat by me, watching me look through books. "What exactly are you doing?" I heard them ask at one point. "Nothing much. Just looking through some of the books to see if Nightmare had anything interesting in here before the whole monster extinction thing. I was hoping to just read for a bit so the others could get some very needed rest. They've all been through too much, especially for how young most of them are."

Fable nodded then looked up at me, a slight curious look on her face. "But what about you? Each time I've seen you you just look.. tired." I sighed a bit and looked down at her. "I've been told that before. I'll be fine kid, don't worry about me too much." I said, continuing to look through books again.

"You can rest too y'know. You might've not been through much these past few days, but I can tell you've been through a lot in general. You deserve a break too. So maybe find a book or two and go rest somewhere and just read for a bit. Don't bother about worrying about everyone else. They can handle themselves." I was a bit shocked, for how young this kid looked, they sure were smart. "You're a smart kid, I'll give you that. You are right though, I suppose I should probably get some rest." I grabbed a few books, then turned to leave. "C'mon, I'm sure even as a ghost, some rest is nice once in a while."

I lead them back out to one of the living rooms, sitting down on one of the chair and them sitting next to me on the arm rest. I knew they didn't exactly need sleep, being dead and all, but from other ghosts I had spoken to, most said it was still nice once in a while. I noticed them actually fall asleep after a few moments, and I just smiled a bit. As much of a trouble maker as they seemed to be at times, they were still just a kid.

It did honestly feel nice to be able to just rest for a bit, not having to worry about the others for even just a few moments.

{Dagger's POV (First person):}

I decided to go back to my universe for a bit, mainly to try and find Miles. I hadn't seen him in what was probably months, I wanted to check in on him, plus I just overall missed him. And I knew he'd want to know I was okay.

I had luckily still had my phone, thank the Gods I had left it in the castle each time I had been yoinked to the labs. I texted him just quickly explaining they yes, I was okay and alive, and asked him to meet me at the forest near the school. After a couple minutes I heard him walking over, turning to face him. He was obviously shocked by how much I had changed, but nonetheless seemed grateful to see me again.

He walked over, pulling me into a hug, which kinda shocked me for a moment. I was still not used to being hugged, so it took me a minute to react. I did hug back after a few moments, making sure I was careful of my claws. I had honestly missed him more than I realized, and being able to just hug him again felt nice.

I ended up crying a bit, completely involuntary, but it just kinda happened and I didn't bother trying to stop it. I was honestly scared. I didn't want to lose him like that again. He had been my first real friend in a while, and he had helped me through so much already, he meant way to much to me to lose again.

"Hey, it's alright. You're safe now."
