When we got back to the castle, I sat down on the couch to rest a bit while Moon went to put Grace in the dungeon. I was still pretty tired out from the fight, but was regaining energy quicker than normal it felt like. I wasn't complaining, it was better than being weak for hours.
While waiting for Moon to get back, I just watched the pink stuff slowly climb up my arms. I didn't exactly know what it was, I just knew it worked as some sort of poison. Hey ma'? After we unmerge, are you gonna stick around or leave again? I hadn't heard from her this whole time. She had been giving me the quiet to be able to focus. I'll stick around the best I can dear. But it'll be a bit difficult still.
I guess she had a point. I wasn't even fully sure how she had found me again in the first place, but y'know, wasn't complaining. She had really helped out a lot. Perhaps you could keep the flower. Your body won't want to merge with it once we disconnect again, but it'll help out a bit in being able to contact you through dreams and such.
That could work I suppose. I noticed Moon come back up and walk into the living room. "Hey, you up to explaining who the monster you merged with was?" She asked, sitting down next to me. "Sure, I mean I probably should so everything makes sense."
"So, she's not really a species of monster, as she's the only one of her kind. Most just call her 'Mother Death'. She's basically a Goddess, and due to how strong her powers are, that's why she's the only one of her kind. If there had been more it could've caused an end to monsters much earlier on. She's honestly really kind though. Despite being, y'know, deadly. Actually, now that I think about it, Error and Nightmare might've actually known her. Nightmare more likely, considering him being a King and all that."
Moon seemed pretty interested from what I could tell. It was honestly kind of hard to read their emotions sometimes. We should probably unmerge soon. You have actual souls you're meant to be merged with right now. Right. She did have a point there. "Welp, time to go through the very uncomfortable process of unmerging again." I said, getting up and moving to a more open space, just in case that space was needed.
The unmerging just caused my vision to get blocked by a white light, much like the one Jane's machine had caused. It also made me a bit dizzy. But after I was able to see properly again, I felt normal again. I looked down at my hands which were now back to normal. However, for some god forsaken reason, my hair was still long. "Oh for fucks sake-" Well that was annoying, considering I had just cut my hair too.
"Fuckin' hate side affects so much." I mumbled a bit to myself. "Side affects?" Moon asked. "Sometimes, unmerging will leave these side affects, or basically just things left from how you looked merged. Like if something had drastically changed, like my hair in this case, sometimes it gets left over after unmerging. It can be very annoying."
"Sound's like it. So now you just have to remerge with Killer and Horror I assume?" I nod. "But not right now, I'm not exactly sure how safe it is to immediately remerge after and unmerge, so I'm gonna play it a bit safe. Might go get my hair redone while I actually look human still."
Moon nodded in understanding. "Alright, you should probably do that now before it gets dark out then." That made sense, considering I was pretty sure most places would be closed by dark. I began to head out. "I'll be back in a bit I guess, dunno how long it'll take, so don't get too worried unless I'm gone for at least like 4 or more hours."
When I got outside, I quickly realized I didn't actually have a way to my universe. Which was where I had wanted to go. Well shit. I took the flower out of my pocket. Hm. Hey ma' if you can hear me, please create a portal or something for me, please. She must've been able to somehow hear me cause a portal opened in front of me. I wasn't gonna question how, because it meant I could get back to my universe.
"Well thank the Gods I guess." I said, walking into the portal. When I got back to my universe I started walking the streets to get to the hairdresser's. I had started to text Miles a bit as I was walking, and we decided to just meet up there.
I got there a bit before him, so I just waited for a bit. I ended up having to send him a quick picture of what I looked like because of just how different I looked from the last time I saw him. He was more confused than anything, considering how short my hair had been the last time.
"Your hair was not that long how the fuck did it grow that long in just a couple days???" I decided to just mess with him a bit for fun. "I don't know what you're talking about, I think you're imagining things."
"Oh come on, I am most definitely not and you know this." I just laughed a bit and shook my head. "Alright alright, I'm just messin' with you, I'll explain later." We just chatted for a bit, until it was finally time for me to go get my haircut. "Be back in a bit I guess." I said, going back to the hairdressing area.
I explained the hairstyle to the hairdresser, and after about 20-25 minutes, it was finished. It was similar to what I had before, just a tad longer. It felt much better not having the long hair anymore. Sure, I looked pretty fucking cool with it, but I just wasn't a fan of long hair.
I went back out to Miles, who had just gone on his phone while waiting. "Sooo, you gonna explain the hair yet orrrr?" I just chuckled a bit and nod. "Yeah yeah, c'mon I'll explain on the walk back.
As we headed towards the woods, where I needed to go, I ended up explaining pretty much everything: the fact that I was a vessel, the situation with Mrs. Jane, and all the unmerging that had happened.
He was pretty surprised, but didn't react badly like I had worried he would. If anything he just seemed more worried on if I was okay after everything that had happened. I reassured him I was fine though, but I wasn't exactly too convincing considering the few scars I had from the fight that were still a bit fresh looking.
"I'm telling you I'm fine, I promise. It really wasn't that bad." He seemed unconvinced but dropped it. "Wait, so if you're a vessel, what do you usually looked merged?" We had gotten close to where I needed to be, and he had gotten more curious about the actual vessel part of my life. "I could always show you sometime. Or I mean you could even come back with me and I could show you when we get there cause I'm gonna be merging back."
"You sure your friend would be fine with that?" I just shrugged. "I mean I don't think she'll mind too much. You're a chill dude, I'm sure she'll be fine with you being there."
{That is all for now, it's a bit of a longer chapter for this one, but that's fine. Reminder, Moon belongs to @FanFicLover6982 who also made this whole au. She has her own book so reminder to check it out to understand things better.}
