{???'s POV (first person):}

The sirens were blaring in my ears, my guess was someone had escaped. Which meant I'd probably be yoinked from my room to go find them. Because for some reason the damn scientists decided that was my job.

It was nice, being the only experiment in this place who didn't need a shock collar or need to be put in chains (aside from the big guys who didn't fit the chains I guess). I liked being trustworthy enough to be treated better. I just waited patiently for a scientist to come find me, bored out of my damn mind. Bruh. There's nothing to fucking do in this damn place. There was no response from my other parts, and I assumed they probably were sleeping or something. I think they're able to. I don't actually know.

"009, come on, you're needed. 128 escaped. Had a friends help it seems." I heard Antony's voice and soon after saw him appear in the doorway. 128? Must be a newbie. I got up and followed him out of the room. The sirens were still going off, and we both had to cover our ears to block out the sound as it was even louder out in the hall.

We got to Anthony's office, and he handed me the file for 128, otherwise known as 'Dagger'. He was a vessel, much like me. His description was brief, as he had still been new. But there was still a picture of him that I'd be able to work off of. "He can teleport through universes we assume, so you most likely won't be able to find him here." Anthony explained, as I finished scanning over the file. I nodded and popped the file into the little pocket dimension I used as a storage. "I'll be on my way then, I suppose?" I asked, to which Anthony nodded.

Hmm, where to start? I thought to myself as I left the area, searching for a good area to create a portal. I opened the portal to a random universe which I assumed would be a possible place for the runaway vessel to be, humming a bit to myself as I entered it.

{Dagger's POV (First person):}

After everyone was caught up with everything, we all decided a break to just relax was very much needed. Kit had taken one of the spare rooms the relax up in, Nightmare just went up to his own room, and I ended up just laying down on the couch, not wanting to have to go too far at the moment while not being able to see.

Despite being exhausted, I couldn't bring myself to sleep. I guess I was just too paranoid still. Or maybe it was the first time in a couple days I had tried to fall asleep without Miles there. As weird as it sounded, him being there had really helped me fall asleep easier.

After a bit of time though, I did finally feel myself drifting off to sleep.

{???'s POV (3rd person):}

He hated hearing his parents fight. It was always so loud and violent. He could hear glasses breaking and things being thrown. This time his parents were fighting about him again. How he was different.

"That kid is a fucking freak ----! I don't want it in my damn house anymore!"

"Well we're not kicking him out! He's only 12, he can't survive on his own out there!"

"The fuck if I care! For all I care we can give it to my brother. Heard he's been lookin' for freaks like it."

There was a loud smack. "You are not giving my son to that damn scientist! If you can't learn to live with him being hear then you can just fucking leave!"

More yelling, more hitting, and more glass shattering. The boy sat against the door, quietly sobbing. The yelling was keeping him awake.

...

It was calm. For once. The boy and his brother had gone outside to get away from the yelling. The stars were out and the young boy sat and listened to his brother rant about different facts about stars. It was nice hearing his brother get to talk about stuff he loved. He didn't get to do that very often.

"Did you know you can actually tell the time just by looking at the moon and where it is in the sky? It's different depending on the time of year, but as long as you know the date, the moon will always be able to tell you what time it is." The boy tilted his head a bit. "But what about day time? Doesn't the moon go away then?"

His brother shook his head no. "It's still there. It never actually goes away, it's just a bit harder to see." The boy laid his head against his brother's shoulder. "Do you think the moon can guide us like mom always says?" His brother was quiet for a bit before responding. "If mom believes it, I think I do too. I've never actually tried though, so maybe you'll have to try it out one day and tell me if the moon really can guide you."

...

{Dagger's POV (First person):}

I woke up, feeling not very well rested despite having been asleep for quite a while. Nightmare and Kit were still in their rooms I assumed, so I decided to just stay laying down as there wasn't really any point in getting up.

I thought a bit about the dream I had, remembering so clearly now the words my mom used to say to me and my brother.

"If you ever feel lost, the moon will always be there to guide you."

It felt almost ironic to me now. Moon had been helping me out through so many situations I'm sure I'd never be able to get through without her. I guess maybe my mom had been right about that.

{Ending this here because yeah got nothing else to really write now. New character again, you'll learn more about them later. Reminder that Kit and Moon, who were only briefly mentioned, belong to my friend @FanFicLover6982 who has her own book that connects with mine and also is the creator of this whole au.}
