The mergeverse

Helping a friend

I had finally cleared my thoughts when I heard some noises from pretty nearby. I quickly turned to the direction but was too far to actually see anything. I realized it was further than I thought, but when I finally got there, it was quiet. I noticed who I assumed was Moon.

"Moon..?" I noticed them seemingly panicking, and quickly realized what happened. I sighed and crouched down beside her. "Unmerged, huh? Just try to breathe and listen to my voice, you'll be alright.." I kept my voice calm and comforting, knowing what It was like to go through this. "Just try to not focus on it being quiet in your mind, just focus on the sounds outside. Focus on my voice."

After a couple minutes, I noticed them finally calm down. "Can you explain what happened..?" I didn't wanna pressure her too bad, but it'd help knowing what was going on. "Remember the notebook I had shown you? With Mrs. Jane?" I nod and let her continue. "She found me. She had some machine that was able to unmerge me with Nightmare and Error."

"Ah.. A forceful unmerge.. I see.." Moon seemed a bit confused. "How do you even know so much about what's happening..? Is unmerging a normal thing or something?" I just shook my head. "Usually not. However one of the only memories from my past that had stayed.. was the first time I merged with a monster."

Moon seemed shocked to say the least. "You've unmerged before??" I nod. "It's one of the only memories I was able to remember without the memory resurfacing as a dream first. Basically, when I was around 3 or 4, I had that weird calling feeling. I had followed it and came across a glowing flower. When I grabbed at it, I had passed out. When I woke back up, I looked different. I don't remember exactly what monster I had merged with, or even what I had looked like. But I remember my parents both being very shocked by it. I also remember my powers had been strongly connected to my emotions, just due to being so young."

I paused trying to remember the rest. "I was I think like 8 when I unmerged. It hadn't been by the machine like yours. It was by a disconnection. Basically, what that is, is sometimes a monster's soul will disconnect from the vessel due to many reasons, causing them to unmerge. It's just as uncomfortable though, I'm sure. And you're left with that feeling of it being too quiet after being so used to hearing the monster voice or voices."

Moon seemed to take in this information. "So.. you know how I feel right now..?" I nod. "It might not be exact due to it being different ways we unmerged, but I at least understand. And I know how to help. You still feel the connection towards their souls, right?" Moon nodded. "Good. That means you can still remerge with them. As long as the souls don't have a disconnection from you, you'll always be drawn to merge with them again. And I have a feeling Mrs. Jane might know that. So we need to find her before she can cause a disconnection. Or worse, destroy the souls altogether."

I helped Moon up, making sure they had enough strength to walk. 

{Idk how else to continue this, so for now this is all. This is honestly more of just a filler chapter so that I could get Daggers reaction to what had happened in my friend's (@FanFicLover6982) last chapter}
