Lucifer and Kit kept telling me to just wait. That we would go find Moon when we had a steady plan. But I was tired of waiting.

I stepped into the shadows a few nights after we made the first plan. Lucifer had already somewhat explained where the lab had been at, I just had to use the shadows to navigate there quicker.

It ended up taking hours, but I eventually noticed a building that seemed promising enough to be a lab. I stepped into the shadow of one of the people walking in, getting inside completely unnoticed. Moving around inside was a bit more difficult. While yes, it was easy to move around with how dark it was, meaning there were a lot of goo shadows, the place was just overall confusing.

I ended up sticking to peoples shadows instead, so I could mentally map out the area before I went looking for Moon. It took awhile, but I soon figured it out. These new powers kept proving to be very useful, because no one even bat an eye when I'd speed past them through the shadows.

One thing I learned quite quickly, was that the actual process of shadow walking as I called it was very fast, meaning I was getting around a lot quicker than if I had just been walking or running around.

Eventually, I decided to find an area I'd know would stay dark even after morning hit, so that I could rest a bit before continuing to find Moon. I found what looked to just be a storage closet, and tucked myself into the corner of it, drifting off to sleep.

{Lucifer's POV (First person):}

I woke up to Dagger being gone. I couldn't sense him anywhere near the castle. I found Kit and told her, and she seemed worried that he may have been taken again. I assured her that couldn't be the case, as both of us likely would've noticed a new presence getting closer.

Therefore Dagger had to have left on his own. "God this kid might actually be the death of me." I said, trying to think of where he could've gone. "I swear, if he went to go find the lab I'm gonna lose my shit. We told him to wait for a reason."

Kit ended up suggesting I go look for him, while she stays here in case he comes back. I agreed, and teleported off to where I knew the lab was. I quite frankly didn't care about getting caught, it's not like the guards or staff could do much to me. I teleported in, and as soon as I was noticed I heard sirens going off. Just great.

Most of the scientists honestly seemed too scared to try and approach me, and any that did I ended up just using my death touch on. I kept looking around, hoping to spot either Dagger or Moon.

{Dagger's POV (First person):}

Sirens were going off when I woke up. I peeked out of the closet I was in, quickly hopping into someone's shadow as they passed by. I continued to travel through shadows, hoping to find whoever had been the reason for the sirens going off.

I spotted Lucifer walking through the halls, and figured he had come looking for me, so I went over, making myself barely visible from the shadows. "Boo." He looked over, not amused by my antics. "There you are. Come on, we're finding Moon while we're here."

I nodded and hopped into his shadow as an easy way to keep up with him.

Suddenly, we got surrounded. Lucifer looked calm, and honestly I just felt my adrenalin rush, as my body wanted nothing more but to fight again. I quietly moved to of of the scientist's shadows, preparing for an attack if Lucifer gave me the okay to.

"It's you against all of us. Just give up and surrender and we won't hurt you." One of the scientists said, pointing some kind of gun looking weapon at Lucifer. "Now, no need to be pointing that at me, I'm not the one who you're gonna wanna fight."

They looked at him confused. "The hell do you mean by that?"

"I mean I'm not alone you idiots. Speaking of, Dagger, go feral on 'em."

I felt my body lose control again, just going into a full fight mode. And next thing I knew, I was sitting in the middle of a bunch of blood and dust. Some stats appeared in front of me, something I hadn't seen since I was a kid.

Huh. Those felt oddly high for my level only being 5. "Nice job there kid, you really are a good fighter. Surprised by your stats though, you must train a lot if you're only level 5 yet have such high stats."

I nodded. "Yeah, I guess I do a lot. It's just been something I've always liked doing." He came over and reaped the souls I had just killed, then looked down at me. "It's a useful skill, don't lose it."

I finally noticed something weird in my hand, that I somehow hadn't noticed before. A human heart. Not a soul, and actual heart. You should totally just bite into that. I blinked in confusion. Horror what the actual fuck?

What, I'm hungry. I told you I used to eat human meat, I dunno why you're surprised. God he was right and I hated it. Part of me did actually wanna take a bite of it, just to see how it'd taste. "Lemme guess, Horror is trying to get you to commit cannibalism?" I just nodded, in the end decided to just say fuck it and bite into it.

I hated that it wasn't terrible. Biting into it was easier than I expected, though I guessed that was just due to my teeth being really sharp cause of Horror. Lucifer gave me a weird look, but I guess just decided not to judge too much because of who I was merged with. I just kept biting into the heart like an apple, the more I ate the better it seemed to taste. See, I told you it was good.

Oh shut up Horror, let me be hungry in peace.
