What kind of entitled brat was she that she didn't even thank him for giving her unperturbed access to his credit card? Fine if she wanted to be a little shit he would be shitty to her in return. She had already taken over his room and it felt like the walls were closing in on him, he felt so claustrophobic in here with her stuff everywhere, her sweet smell permanently permeating the air around him and it had been less than 48 hours and he already wanted to run screaming for the hills.
Lucky for him, he was going to use his job as an excuse and not show his face at home for a while. His mother had wanted this but she would take it at his terms. Anisha had made a very valid point yesterday to him when she reminded him that Akshara was angling towards being the perfect DIL to Manjari and she wouldn't give a single hoot about Abhimanyu and to be honest she hadn't made a single advance towards him. In fact, she did everything in her power to stay far away and he wanted that to continue. Maybe the fact that he had told her about Ishika was keeping her at bay? Thank god for that.
He had told her that she could do whatever she wanted and see whomever she pleased as long as she kept her distance but something about her seeing other people niggled at him, maybe it was the fact that he had forgotten to ask her to be discreet? Whatever!!! Punching his pillow he fell into a deep slumber, especially when he didn't hear a single peep from the other corner of the room. Any why would he? She had gotten her money so no more fake sobs from Miss Goenka.
Abhimanyu woke up early once again to Akshara groaning at his alarm and the moment he shut it off she fell back asleep in a deep slumber. Getting dressed for the gym Abhimanyu stopped by the couch to once again fix her blanket and her legs before hightailing it out of there not willing to unpack why he felt the need to constantly do that. I'm not going to see you for a bit little monkey, he grinned at that thinking about his freedom. He wouldn't have to see the pink in his room or the bright colored clothes or her shoes or dupattas or whatever she wore. If he spent the next few hours thinking about her, it had to be because he was just so glad to go back to his life like he knew it and not because she weighed heavily on his mind.
He made his way into the house closer to 10, earlier than anticipated and to his surprise both Akshara and his mother were sitting in the kitchen, when he went to grab some food. Akshara's face immediately hardened when she saw him walking towards them but when he sought her eyes out she immediately averted her gaze driving him bananas.
"What are you doing still up?" he asked his mother who looked up at him with a smile causing all the stress from the day to leave him.
"Akshara just got home a few minutes before you did so I was going to heat up dinner for her but it's good now that you're here you can eat together." She just got home?? What the fuck was she doing out so late? And more importantly who with?
No Abhimanyu, you don't care remember? Rolling his eyes at himself he just shrugged before pulling a chair out only to stop in his tracks when Manjari addressed the two of them again
"Offo before I forget, Akshu you'll go to your house tomorrow for pagphera no? Will you stay for a bit?" He looked at Akshara to see her fidgeting under the table, huh!
"Umm no Aunty can I just go and come back in the evening? Kairav Bhaiya and Vansh Bhaiya are away and Rishi Bhaiya has something going on." Liar liar pants on fire he wanted to scream but she didn't look at him or the smirk forming on his face.
"Okay, if you're sure? I don't want you to think that I would mind if you go home more often." He could tell how uncomfortable Akshara was and she looked like she was about to sob. For some reason his inner conscience niggled at him to take her pain away.
"Maa please can we not talk about this anymore? If she wants to come back in the evening, I'll go pick her up then. Now please can I go heat my food up so I can eat?" he demanded making Manjari shake her head at him. "Since you're heating food up, make sure you get some for Akshu, she skipped breakfast and probably lunch." She said sternly glaring at Akshara who refused to meet her eyes.
