Akshara had thought that she would be getting a peaceful sleep after the excitement of Abhimanyu's surprise but she kept tossing and turning, wanting to soak all of it in but also because she felt like she owed it to herself to enjoy her day to the fullest. She hadn't lied when she told him that the first few hours of this year's birthday was already the best from all the ones she had before this because someone finally cared enough and also because she had her little beans to give her strength and remind her that she would never have to be alone ever again.

Turning to her side, she traced Abhimanyu's sleeping face with the tip of her fingers trying to keep it as gentle as possible to not disturb his peaceful sleep. Her heart was just so full of love for her gorgeous man that she felt this buzz of unanticipated energy within her, almost wanting to scream it out into the world that she had the best husband ever and her luck had finally changed. As her fingers grazed his slightly open mouth, she felt the warmth of his breath on her fingers and she knew that things could only be better for her now, not because he had given her this surprise but because Abhimanyu's love was always so all encompassing.

She watched his chest cave and rise at the with each breath and finally after long annoying ticking of the minute hand on the clock, Akshara brushed the duvet off her and softly padded out of the room not really sure what she wanted to do but she was sure in the fact that she needed to get out of there before she woke him up. The pile of gifts in the living room were calling her name and she was almost enticed to rip the pretty wrapping paper up and scrounge for treasures within but opening them without Abhimanyu felt like a crime so changing gears, she padded to the kitchen with soft footfalls and sneakily brought her untouched cake out from the refrigerator.

The loud creak of the refrigerator door and the bright light coming from inside startled her and Akshara had to bite down on her tongue to not let out the squeak she was holding onto, instead choosing to hastily grab a fork from the counter and dropping on the floor with the cake resting in her hand. If Abhimanyu found out what she was doing, she would be in a world of trouble but not even the cheeky bright yellow icing could deter her as she dug into the dense chocolate cake, trying not to let out a moan and wake her skittish husband.

"I can't even let you be by yourself in the middle of the night now?" His large body was looming over her as his eyes threw daggers at her and Akshara gasped loudly slack jawed because she had been so immersed into her cake that she had not even heard Abhimanyu sneak up to her.

"But it's my birthday" she said guiltily and in a moment of weakness she grabbed the biggest forkful of the cake she could manage and shoved it into her mouth because chances were that now that the monster was awake, she would have to give up her little sweet treat. But like the saint that he was, he just shook his head at her and dropped down on the floor besides her giving her a playful glare and watching her struggle with watery eyes as she tried to gulp the huge log of cake stuck in her throat.

Finally his patience seemed to have ran out and he once again sighed resignedly before sliding Akshara up and depositing her onto his lap and kissing her forehead.

"The cake is good?" she could hear the teasing lilt in his voice, but she was too happy to give back a sarcastic reply so all she did was nod once before scooping a forkful of cake and feeding it to him as an apology. If the way his pink lips wrapped around the fork caused her tummy to flutter, she blamed it on indigestion and shrugged it off. Watching Abhimanyu chew thoughtfully as his hands rubbed her back gently caused her brain to go on the fritz and maybe that is why her brain to mouth filter disappeared and she blurted out a "you're very hot you know?"

She wanted to take the words back the instant they left her mouth but now that it was out in the universe it was too late for it, especially once Abhimanyu's lips curled up into a devious smile "Oh?" he asked with that one brow tilted up and Akshara couldn't even pretend like it didn't make her pulse skitter in delight. "I mean...yeah, you know it" she replied after a brief pause but instead of teasing her, his piercing gaze kept flitting between her eyes almost in suspicion.
