"Akshu is it this bad to spend time with us instead of at you other house? You're acting like you will never see Abhimanyu again" Kairav bhaiya said nudging her teasingly as they entered the house and try as she might Akshara couldn't help being slightly downtrodden at being apart from Abhimanyu. She tried to shake the melancholy off and be present with her brothers but her heart was already stolen by her monster and she couldn't help it if she felt like a piece of her was missing.
"We'll never get a chance to spend such a long time with you Akshu so try not to be too angry at us." Rishi said and finally Akshara plastered a smile on her face turning to her brothers and nodding her head enthusiastically. Yes, she had a chance to change her ideologies regarding her brothers and it might be a good idea to start afresh where she could have a solid support system outside of Abhimanyu and try and find out what was going on in their lives. "Ok. I'll go change then we can cook something fun for dinner?" she asked and was thrilled when she saw her brothers nod.
It had barely been 30 minutes as she showered and changed into sweatpants when her phone flashed her husband's name. Grinning at her phone, she picked it up to see a pouting Abhimanyu staring at her "come back" he whined and Akshara giggle at the desperation in his voice.
"Sona it hasn't even been an hour." She chided gently but her heart fluttered with need at how sweet he looked through the phone.
"I know, but I don't like being in our room without you. The universe is conspiring against me because I know your brothers will take care of you and spoil you like you deserve but I will be left all alone by myself in our room thinking of you..." dammit. She knew he was laying it on thick but her heart still lurched at his words. She didn't want him to be sad at all, preferably ever. "Plus I have a surgery early in the morning tomorrow and I'll miss my chance to see you when you're home"
She was about to joke with him before he said the last line because suddenly she was crestfallen knowing that she wouldn't see him all day tomorrow. "you said you'll find a way" she pouted heavily before flopping on her bed in annoyance.
"Sorry monkey" he groaned as he matched her pose, flopping on their bed with a loud huff, fluffing her pillow under his arm and resting his head on it "it smells like you, makes me feel like you're here" he grinned and Akshara's face heated at being wanted like this by him.
Before she could respond in kind and tell him how much she missed him, Vansh bhai yelled loudly for her from their kitchen downstairs asking her to hurry "sorry monster, I have to go help them make dinner" she said reluctantly, her heart torn between staying on the phone with him but also running down to stop her brothers from making a right old mess in the kitchen.
"Fine go..whatever... what do you care about your poor husband anyway who needs you. I'm just going to go to the hospital and work. BYE" he grumbled and without waiting for her response, he cut the call. Shit shit shit. Abhimanyu was never ever mad at her so to have him be pouting and angry at her was throwing her entire being off. She needed them to be okay because she could deal with everything else in her life except Abhimanyu being upset with her.
Tears threatened to fall from her eyes as she tried to get her heart rate into control and figure out if she should call and make up with him or give him some time but her Abhimanyu knew her like the back of his hand because her phone pinged with a text from him
*I'm not actually mad, I just miss you loads monkey. Have fun and miss me <3*
He was ensnared into her very being so there was no world in which she wouldn't miss him, texting him a quick I love you, Akshara skipped down the stairs grinning like a fool. Her mood was so dependent on Abhimanyu and his wellbeing, but also their relationship that it affected how she thought and spoke, she was sure. It might be too codependent but she had never had anyone to depend on in her entire life so she wanted to make the most of this because it assured her in weird ways that she had somebody who she could trust blindly, who unapologetically had her back.
