When he couldn't find her in their room, he had tried calling her but her phone rang somewhere close by. Through the glass he saw her small figure huddled on their bench in the balcony and his heart fell through his stomach, she had been acting so weird the past few days and it seemed like she was fast approaching her breaking point. He had run up to her not even bothering about the cold rain soaking him through, his first instinct was to drag her back in and protect her from whatever was eating her up, yet as he pulled her up she looked at him with so much awe and confusion that he was thrown aback.
Her white flowy dress was clinging on to every curve of hers and he had damn near lost his bloody mind trying to keep it together but even his resolution wasn't strong enough when her thumbs stroked his cheeks with so much innocence and wonder. He had not planned to kiss her, heck not in his wildest dreams had he thought of it as a possibility but her blush, those pouty lips, her soft curves, yeah he wasn't strong enough to resist.
His blood was sizzling with heat and her soft lips had sent him into a trance, he simply HAD to steal one last kiss before he let her go. She tasted oh so sweet just like he knew she would, her innocence and shyness drove him wild!
Pulling her tighter to him in the middle of the pouring rain, he pressed his lips on hers one last time in a demanding kiss but when she hesitantly moved her lips in sync with his, he immediately softened his hold on her and cupped her cheeks, stroking her cold skin flushed with red with his thumbs.
Abhimanyu stopped when he felt her shiver in his arms, he had forgotten about the rain and the thunder, such was her hold on him.
"C'mon let's get you warm" he said and grabbed her hand in his pulling her inside, tracking rain water into their room but for the first time he didn't care, his life had just changed completely and he realized that he did not care if the place was flooded as long as he had her by his side.
Grabbing a few fresh towels, he covered her with one and began to pat her arms and hair to get the excess water off of her.
"It's....ok. I can do it." she stammered, shivering violently and Abhimanyu glared at her, continuing to dry her up. She looked so nervous as she blinked up at him that he felt it like a punch in his gut. He was such an idiot, of course she was feeling out of sorts after what they had just shared.
"Akshara I-" he began but she fell into his chest, hugging him tight.
"Please I don't want to talk about it. It's all too much." She whispered onto his chest and her tone was so apprehensive and shaky that try as he might, he couldn't ignore her plea.
"Whenever you're ready, ok? But I need you to know that it meant the world to me" she shivered at that but he wasn't sure if it was at his reply or from the cold, but her in his arms felt so right that he didn't have the mental capacity to dissect his or her emotions.
"I'm going to go change my clothes" she whispered after a bit and he reluctantly stepped away trying to look into her eyes to see what they would tell him about her current state of mind but she expertly evaded his gaze. Guess he would have to give her some time once again.
By the time he got dressed and came out to of their bathroom she was on the couch curled up and fast asleep or at least pretending to be. They had not slept apart in so long that Abhimanyu wasn't even sure he could fall asleep now without her in his arms or her whacking him in the stomach in the middle of the night as she seeked his warmth out.
"Monkey?" he whispered hoping she would hear him out but when he didn't get any response, he chose to continue knowing that there was no way she was asleep, not after that kiss "You can take the bed, I'll take the couch. I promise I won't touch you." He stared at her sleeping form, waiting for an answer or any indication that she was up, after a while her palms came up to her ears and she covered them tightly, still curled up into the smallest ball possible making his heart hurt. He was clearly dismissed, and he totally understood the conflict in her heart, he would give her time but he just didn't want her to suffer by herself.
