The morning sun was blinding and Akshara moaned loudly trying to stave off the sun and cover her face, unfortunately for her the only way to get away from it was to get up and close the blinds which was out of the question considering the way her head was pounding.

With acute awareness of the way her head was pulsing, Akshara slowly patted the space behind her trying to look for Abhimanyu but her fingers came back empty, leaving a cold sheet behind in her wake suggesting that it had been a while since he had left. Pouting at it, she slowly stretched her limbs one tiny inch at a time, her sanity returning with every second.

Her mind kept alerting her to something that needed her urgent attention but it danced out of reach every time she tried to gather her senses. She squinted to her side and found a couple of pills with a glass of water sitting on top of the dresser with a note folded next to it. Smiling softly she hastily chugged the water, downing the pills in one go and gagging at the sudden onslaught of fluid into her system. Like every time she did, unfolding his note led her to smile softly at her husband's cuteness and how well he took care of her.

"Drink it" is all it said and she couldn't quite pinpoint what about it bothered her but as she tried to place her feet on the floor and get up, the world began to spin and she had sit back down with a soft thud on the bed, even the small bounce it caused made her want to throw up and never leave her bed ever again.

As she lay back down, her brain reminded her of the mystery she was trying to solve and it hit her that the note was too tame for her husband. While the writing was his, it just read wrong because normally Abhimanyu would be playful and leave a small heart or an I love you in there. This no nonsense drink it felt too sterile, too detached. The kind of note she would leave but not Abhimanyu...he never missed a chance to express his feelings.

Once again with a spinning head she sat up too quickly making her gut churn but this time she gritted her teeth fighting the nausea back because the onslaught of her memories was far too strong and the niggling feeling had turned to a full blown inferno and she was so horrified by her memories that she held her head into her hands and a few tears escaped her eyes which was feat in itself with how dehydrated she was.

"Are you mad at me?" she remembered asking and now that the fog was clearing she remembered how angry he sounded when he replied with a "Very". Shit. She should never had drinks around him because of how heavy her anxiety was about their physical life and now look, she had blurted everything out in front of him and made him mad. Once again she had dumped her insecurities on him and it was only valid that he was fed up of her and her stupid self.

Sending a little prayer to god, she pulled her phone towards her and squinted into the screen hoping for a text or call from him but her screen remained blank. He really was pissed at her and she didn't know what to do to make him not be mad. If she ignored the problem like she had done all her life, would it go away? That's how she dealt with her bade papa and her brothers, could it also work on Abhimanyu?

Trying to tamp down the uneasiness she shot him a text thanking him for the pills and anxiously bit the skin on her thumb waiting for a response. She was too agitated to rest but her body was shutting down on her, the hangover making it difficult for her to leave her bed. Her phone beeped with a text and she lunged for it with inhumane speed but it was just her brothers' in the text chain complaining about the hangover and how they were all taking a breather and relaxing. Good, because she could not dump this shit on them and she was sure she had no energy to pretend that everything was fine.

Late evening and no response from Abhimanyu caused panic to bleed into her veins and she sent a couple more texts all of which remained unanswered. Deciding to bite the bullet and face the music, she called him but he didn't answer. Abhimanyu's silence was way worse than anything he could have said or done because it cut deeper than anything ever had and she curled up into a ball under the blanket trying to dissect everything she had said and trying to remember what his reactions were.
