Abhimanyu stirred slightly before realizing why he was suddenly so warm, he always ran hot and that was one of the main reasons why he never wore a shirt to bed but now that he was beginning to gain consciousness, he realized that Akshara was sleeping practically on top of him. He had tried so damn hard to make her sleep on her side of the bed but despite his million and one protests she somehow always managed to crawl on his side of the bed seeking his body out in the middle of the night and there was only so much he could deny both himself and her and so like always he let her do whatever she wanted.
Smiling down at her sleeping face, he slowly thumbed some of the strands of hair out of her face making her scrunch her nose cutely before a peaceful look overtook her face and she went back to dreaming about whatever she had been. The past few days, ever since she had found out about his scheduled surgeries at the end of the week Akshara had been unbelievably clingy to the point where the only time he had away from her was when he was in the bathroom. Of course, he was not complaining. Akshara was always so self-sufficient, ready to do everything herself and he wanted to be whatever she needed him to be in the moment.
Like most other husbands, Abhimanyu was not an asshole and so he wasn't going to point out the fact that a lot of her tears and meltdowns were due to the ever changing hormones in her body. She was literally growing two of his kids inside her, in exchange if he had to spend a few hours having Akshara clinging to him and needing his attention it seemed like a bargain skewed heavily in his favor. She was mostly napping and yawning throughout the day and wanted Abhimanyu in the bed with her and he had happily obliged.
He wasn't sure how, but this tiny woman tested his patience to the end of the ledge because getting her to eat food was probably the hardest thing he ever had to do. There were tears, yells, begging, pleas, bargains every time mealtime rolled around he just knew it was going to be a disaster and he had to patiently coax her into eating whatever food was prepared for her. He was just so worried all the damn time about her that he was sure his hair was going to turn white soon and they didn't even have their babies yet. He couldn't even imagine how much of a struggle it was going to be if they were anything like his monkey but god knew he wouldn't want it any other way.
Kissing her hair once, her slowly rubbed her cheek grinning as she swatted his hand away and covered her face with the blanket "five minutes promise" she said before immediately falling asleep again and Abhimanyu had to laugh, how the hell did she manage to do that?
"Jaan, c'mon wake up" he said as he gently took her hand off his waist and tried to slither away to go down and get some breakfast for her but it was almost like she had a radar for him leaving and her hand tightened on his waist and she put all her might in making him stay, shaking her head in frustration.
"You didn't even give me five minutes" she said grumpily, and Abhimanyu let out a bark of laughter at that as he dropped his face to nuzzle her hair "You're right, my bad." The smile stretched wide across her face was worth everything and he would have agreed to whatever she asked of him in that instance.
"I need to talk to you" Abhimanyu tried to keep his voice as casual as possible but the way Akshara's head peaked out from under the covers glaring at him almost made him retract his statement. Suddenly she was throwing the covers off and scrambling away from him, putting some distance between them "You wake up early and then you make me wake up and now you want to talk? I don't want to talk" she grumbled, brushing the hair falling into her eyes in annoyance. If he laughed right now, she would probably do some bodily harm to him and it was in his best interest to not let his amusement show, but boy was it hard. She was so damn adorable that he couldn't help but laugh every time she got angry.
Huffing once she spat out a "what now?" in his direction but up until that point Abhimanyu hadn't realized that when she had thrown the covers off of her it left her in a barely there pair of pajamas. Gulping once, he tried to pull his eyes away from the shortest pair of satin shorts known to mankind, the straps of the silk tank top were almost slipping from her shoulders and with her hair a wild mass of curls, her eyes still blinking away sleep and the small sleep wrinkle on her face left him gawking at his wife. She was always beautiful but sometimes he couldn't believe that this was his life, especially when she looked like this.
