Abhimanyu stretched his very sore but content body as his alarm went off in the background, grinning when Akshara mumbled something incoherently and pulled the blanket over her face before turning in the other direction and going back to sleep, her nose was scrunched in irritation and her brows were bunched together from the little peek he got before she moved the blanket over her face and his grin turned into a full blown smile.
Shaking his head at her, Abhimanyu went about his morning routine, showering and getting dressed and ordering breakfast, trying to give her as much time as he could to get some shut eye but he knew that no amount of sleep would be enough for Akshara because she would always without a doubt wake up grumpy and irritated, regardless of the time.
Finally, when he couldn't put it off any longer, he walked to the room and got on his knees on the side of her bed slowly pulling the blanket away from her face. She looked so damn cute and innocent that Abhimanyu had to take a moment to stare at her, his wife, his Akshara.
Gently removing some wayward strands of hair away from her face, he traced a path from her scalp to her cheek with his finger.
"Wake up Sweetheart" he mumbled but Akshara pouted in irritation before mumbling a "leavemealone" and tried to pull the blanket over her face.
He had expected her to be prissy and put up a fight and thankfully he had the foresight to budget enough time for her to slowly wake up and get dressed.
"Baby c'mon we have to go" he tried again, moving his upper body away in record speed before Akshara's whack could make contact with his chest.
When was it going to be easier to look at her face and not feel a punch in his gut or for himt o feel giddy that she was his for life? Because he couldn't quite envision a time in his life, few years down the line when he wouldn't act this way around her.
Shaking his head to get rid of that particular direction of thoughts, lest he went down a particular tangent and brought her along with him, Abhimanyu traced her cheek with the back of his finger before pressing a quick kiss on the rising blush, she was up!
Slowly she opened one eye and glanced at him, her previous irritation melting quickly as she patted the place next to her on the bed enthusiastically "five minutes promise" he knew she was lying but how could he not accept the invitation, especially when she looked like a glowing angel in the morning light, which almost set the whites of her satin pajamas ablaze.
Sighing in defeat, he got up to a grinning Akshara who scooched a little to give him space, wriggling away from the edge of the bed and patting the empty space once.
"You, my monkey, are a bad influence" he tutted before stretching his body besides her and pulling her warm from sleep body into his chest, grinning when she let out a content mewl.
"Mmmm see" she whispered but before he could respond, withing moments she was back to sleeping. God, what would he do with her? Because now he knew that she would be grumpier than before since he would have to wake her up in 5 minutes or they would be late.
"Monkey please" he said in a defeated voice as he shook her awake but she only grumbled a "I will kill you" and buried her face back into his chest, rubbing it all over his carefully pressed shirt.
"The parathas will get cold and we have to go soon. Everyone would be waiting for us and Anisha will be coming for her ceremony, please baby c'mon" he tried with a resigned sigh yet he was surprised when he felt Akshara perk up from besides him
"Paratha???" she asked and within seconds she was sitting up, bouncing her cute little butt on the bed.
Of course. He should've guessed that aloo parathas would get her out of bed faster than his kisses ever could and so what if he was a little jealous? Who wouldn't be?
