Normalcy
While he's upstairs nasa living room naman ako at nakaupo sa sahig. My nails are currently dipped with acetone, i tried to do it fast by using a cotton balls to remove my red colored nail polish.
He was just there standing behind me, pinapanood at kuryoso sa ginagawa ko.
"What are you doing on the floor?" he asked, litong lito sa pinagkakaabalahan ko.
I explained to him the procedure that i did. "It's very tiring and complicated process but i refuse to pay huge amount of money just to have them removed."
"What language was that?"
I laughed at his reaction and just continued what i am doing. "Just sit there, okay? Or do something else."
Umupo siya at pinanood ang ginagawa ko.
"You'll get bored with this i am telling you," i warned him. I glanced at Hervé who is still trying to understand my girly activities. He's just gawking there like a curious child.
He's already wearing his white tshirt and a black cotton shorts.
"How old was Queen Elizabeth II when she was crowned as Queen of England?"
"Come on! Answer it, big brain."
"Oh I definitely know the answer to that question. I am guessing she's twenty seven? My ma can't stop comparing her achievements to mine as such an early age reminding me that the queen was crowned at twenty seventh. I didn't even have any achievements at that age. Watching any contents and documentary shows back then is such a menace. It will only remind my ma to nag at me again and again."
"I can almost imagine how your parents nag you at home," panay punas sa luha dahil sa katatawanan. "Good that you had experienced such difficulties. Getting nagged by your mom."
Glad to know that he had a normal childhood back home. It made him looked grounded and humble to me. Which is a rare sight every time we are at work. He's always in command, always assertive in what he wants. Maybe it's natural for him to be that confident since he's also one of the people who are on the top of the hierarchy.
"Why you're changing the paint on your nails?" pang usisa niya nang nagsimula na akong mag apply ng color-less nail polish.
"Well i'm sick of it. I'll try the plain one this time."
"I like your red painted nails."
"What?"
He shrugged. "I said i like the red one,"
I proudly showed him my new and refreshed nails. "Red ones will be back next month. Look! I just saved fifty five dollars just by painting my nails at home."
"It looks good on your hand but still i prefer the red ones," he answered smugly. "It holds a historic memory."
"My gut is telling me that i dont wanna hear about it."
"Oh i saw this trend about roman empire of men," umupo ako sa carpeted floor samantalang komportable naman siyang nakasandal sa couch. "Look!" pinakita ko sa kaniya ang nahanap na video sa internet. "Are you familiar with it?"
