I will feel abandoned if he leaves me.

I will feel so alone if he never returns and it makes me realize that despite my resistance to him and my attempts to push him away, he was steadily taking up place in my life. Without my knowledge, he's rapidly becoming my home.

Him leaving me forever feels like I have been abandoned, like how my parents abandoned me. He's slowly becoming my home. He's made a mark without me knowing.

We got a call at two thirty in the morning informing us that the search and rescue team had finally found the missing individuals and that they were working hard to get them back to the shore. 

Dahil sa masamang panahon it can take hours, but they guarantee that all medical personnel are prepared for their arrival.

Nagmadali kaming pumunta at nakita namin ang aming mga kaibigan na nakatayo kasama ang mga authorities despite appearing quite weary and anxious.

I rushed over without thinking about anything.

"Did they verify that the person they found was Deuce?" kinakabahan kong tanong.

Nang nakita ako ni Nathan agad na sumama ang kaniyang expression. I know they are all worried for me pero intindihin naman sana nila na natatakot din ako.

"You should have stayed at the resort. We will be back there right away once the people found were confirmed."

"I wanna know what's happening, Nathan. Stop keeping me in the dark." I snapped at him, barely holding myself together.

He sighed lowly.

"There is no confirmation, but they are positive that three individuals have been recovered. They need an emergency medical examination, but hopefully they are still conscious." Nathan explained.

"They also mentioned that they would be coming back so everything will be okay. All we have to do is wait." Malik comforted everyone.

"W-what about the dead body?"

"We didn't found Herve yet. The authorities are still awaiting a claim before they can obtain authorization to investigate and determine the reason of unknown man's death."

"The higher ups already know what's going on here and that Deuce is missing. Here on this vacation, Av, we're all colleagues.  In order to prevent us from being questioned at home, they must be aware of what is going on here. He is working toward becoming a captain....the company for sure needs to be alerted,"

The tension and anxiety increased because of what he said. Of course, he had to make sure to clear things up right away.

It's even more terrifying to realize that the company is aware of it. It seems as though the situation is spreading like wildfires.

"If something terrible were to happen to Deuce, the company would be involved. Given that this is a private vacation and that we are all employed by the same company, some may assume there are foul plays."

"Don't say that, Nathan." Yoni interrupted.

"It's true. People will make unfavorable assumptions and hold various narratives about what happened in Maldives."

Umiling ako at ibinaling ang atensyon sa malawak na dagat.

"Nathan must have felt incredibly responsible for what's happening, which is why he's out searching for him and gathering information." Bulong ni Yoni nang nakalapit sa akin. Niyakap niya ako at tahimik kaming nakatayo.

Nang mapansin ng medical team ang mas malaking bangka na kahawig ng jet ski na papalapit sa dalampasigan, agad silang naalerto at agad nagtungo sa tubig.
