The cold Coca Cola in my hand dripped down my fingers, bill's wet hands snaked around my waist, the ends of my hair sticking to my burnt back. The smell of chlorine and sunscreen lingered in the air, small lanterns glowing above the hot tub. My gaze moved to bill, his lips occupied by his drink, his eyes staring back at mine. Ever since Asher showed up bill has been quiet, overbearing. He won't let me go anywhere he isn't which makes me wonder if Asher was telling the truth, although I want to trust bill. Paying someone to leave me alone seems a bit extreme, after all bill hated me for a long time now he's all over me.
"We're going in the lazy river, want to come?" Freya asked, holding my shoulder.
"Yeah" I nodded, crushing my empty can.
We made our way out of the hot tub, the bubbles splatting onto my hips, the coldness from the main pool hitting me instantly. Bill took my empty coke can from my hands, tossing them into the bin next to him. My eyes set on the long lazy river ahead , multiple curves throughout it, the tall stairs making me feel sick. I planted my feet on the white concrete, Beth running up the steps, her hands waving in the air as she squealed. The steps led us up to the lazy river, the pools now below us all, the only thing holding the structure up being wooden pillars.
A wide selection of coloured rings sat by the wall, my hands reaching for the blue one. I threw the blow up ring into the water, stepping into the hole, my body being squeezed into it slightly. Bill and Georg jumped into theirs, going under the water with a splash.
"You idiot!" Beth yelled, wiping her soaked face.
"Chill out" Georg pouted, laying in his ring.
"My hair is ruined!" She frowned.
My eyes flicked over to the left when I heard a familiar voice, his brown hair catching my attention. I shot a glance at bill, him being too distracted by Tom to notice me slipping away. I dragged myself through the water, ignoring it spitting up into my face, Asher's voice becoming clearer. The monitors under the water caught up with me, pushing me faster, my feet scratching against the tiles below. I used my hands to grab onto the wall, coming to a quick stop, Asher's eyes turning to me.
"Wait, please" I pleaded, moving along the wall carefully.
"What do you want?" He whispered, looking over my shoulder.
"The truth. All of it" I huffed.
"Bill wanted me to leave you for him, at first I said no of course but when he offered me money I couldn't refuse. I've been in debt for my whole life, I needed the money but it doesn't mean I didn't like you. I think your a great girl and as much as I want to get to know you bill won't allow it. He never will if it's not with him." He sighed, his lip curled down.
"Why didn't you just tell me this? I really liked you even though I just met you, I felt like I could trust you" I pouted.
"y/n. It's not me you love, it's him. I could see it in your eyes every time he was there. Do I think he'll hurt you? Yes but it's not my choice to make." He murmured, his eyebrows furrowed.
My eyes fell low again, looking at my reflection in the water, the cold breeze hitting my face. Bill will never admit to it but I know it's true, Asher has no reason to lie. He was right though, it is bill that I love no matter what he does. Everyday I shame myself for it but in the back of my mind it's his face I see, his touch I crave, his love I want to consume me.
"Where did you go?" Beth yelled, nudging into me.
"I wanted a head start" I hummed, wiping my eyes.
"Cheeky" she chuckled, grabbing my hands.
𝟏𝟕:𝟒𝟓𝐩𝐦 I placed my fresh drink on top of the lockers, wrapping my dry cover up over me, my hair knotted from the water. I slipped on my flip flops, the warmness of them bringing a sense of comfort. I reached for my slush, wrapping my lips around the pink straw, looking for bill. I heard his voice from afar, his voice hoarse, his words bitter.
"Where is bill?" I asked, looking at Georg.
"I'm not sure actually" he shrugged, looking around.
My slush dropped from my cold hands, hearing a loud slam, Asher being thrown up the metal gates. I quickly ran over to him, bill being inches from his face, his hands gripping onto Asher's arms.
"Stop!" I screamed, my feet scraping against my flip flops.
Bill quickly turned to me before punching Asher across the face repeatedly, Asher hitting the concrete floor. My breathing became hitched, my heartbeat throbbing, blood smearing onto the floor. I planted my hands on top of bill's shoulders, pulling him away, his knuckles spotted with red.
"You believe him don't you?!" Bill yelled, yanking my arm.
"Let go of me!" I frowned, peaking down at an unconscious Asher.
"You walked away from me to find Asher, after I admitted how I felt?" He scowled.
"Bill your hurting me." I murmured, my wrist becoming sore.
"oh really?" He snickered, raising his free hand.
Before I knew it he slapped me across the face, my cheek omitting pain instantly, my eyes tearing up. He grabbed a handful of my hair, pushing me up against the metal wall, his fingers squishing my face.
"You're mine. Now stop being a bitch and listen to me" he whispered, his nails digging into my face.
The sound of people running distracted me, staff hanging over Asher, his mouth pooling with blood. Bill's dark eyes peered into mine, his jaw tense, his red fingers shaking with anger.
"What happened?!" Tanya gasped, her mouth gaping open.
Bill quickly let go of me, my body slouching into the gate, my hands shaking beside me..
