My foot tapped against the marble flooring, watching as the chef made my fresh lasagna, my stomach aching. The mist from the cooker blowing through the metal holders, my eyes squinting shut. The sweet smell of strawberry ice cream lingered in the cafeteria, my eyes wondering around. Beth's warm hand landed on my shoulder, her body perching up to see the menu.

"Hey" I smiled, nudging her slightly.

"Hey, sorry if I've been acting weird" she sighed.

"Well I wasn't going to say anything but you have been a little" I shrugged, my gaze meeting her's

"Yeah about that.." she paused, looking at her feet.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"I'll tell you when we're sitting down, it's not good news" she frowned, her eyes closed.

I nodded, grabbing my plate from the rack in front, the hot plate burning my finger tips. The thick red sauce seeping off of the plate, a small green leaf to top it off. Beth ended up getting the same as me, the chef already preparing extra plates. I led the way to find a table, most of them already taken. The loud chatters from distant tables echoing into my ears, my flip flops drowned out. My gaze turned to a small two person table, the view being right on the ocean, my body immediately taking me that way. I lay down my warm plate before sitting down opposite Beth, her lips smushed up.

"So?" I chuckled, twirling my fork.

"Yesterday I went to give Freya her phone back after she left it with Georg, when I entered her room I saw her and bill having sex. I don't know what lie they made up to you but I saw them with my own eyes." She huffed.

My lips stayed sealed, my throat tightened. Her deep gaze flicking between me and her plate, my mind wondering off. There's no way, I don't believe it. She might have just misunderstood the situation, Freya wouldn't do that to me. I may have had my doubts but she has no reason to hurt me, nor does bill. I hope this is some sick joke, either way I'm putting my trust in bill this time, I promised I would. I can't just turn my back now because of some rumour, I don't understand why Beth would say this.

"They are just friends" I murmured, stuffing my mouth.

"y/n. I saw them, I heard them. I wouldn't lie to you." She pouted, reaching for my free hand.

"Yes you are. For some reason I don't know" I scowled.

"He's just playing a game with you! It's all a lie, he's sick." She frowned, her lips curled down.

"Stop it! It's different this time, I know it is. If you don't support our relationship then maybe we shouldn't have this conversation" I muttered.

"What relationship? He's blatantly lying to your face and you know I'm right, why can't you just admit that? Do you really think I would lie to hurt you? I care about you and our friendship more than anything." She sighed, her fork slamming down.

"Yeah right." I hummed.

A scoff left her parted lips, her half eaten pasta lying untouched. Her hands slammed down onto the table, rocking the sauces in front of us, her chair sliding back with a screech. She shot one last look at me before walking off, her hands bawled beneath her torso.

"Hey beautiful" bill clicked, taking Beth's seat.

I chewed at my lip, the savoury taste from the sauce lingering in my mouth, my gaze flat on the table cloth. Bill's fingers tapping onto the table, his lips rubbing together.

"What's wrong?" Bill questioned.

"Nothing" I whispered, slouching back.

"Tell me" he insisted, planting his hand on top of mine.

"Beth told me that you and Freya had sex." I pouted.

"What? Don't tell me you believe that. You know I wouldn't do that to you" he frowned, rubbing my hand.

"I know that's what I said but I don't understand why she would say that." I sighed, meeting his sharp eyes.

"I shouldn't tell you this but Beth tried to kiss me a few days ago, she's clearly jealous" bill groaned.

"What? When?" I asked, my eyes wide.

"At the water park" he shrugged.

"As if!" Beth yelled, returning to the table with a stomp.

"No point in lying" bill scowled.

"Me? You're the one lying again! I'm in love with Gustav and unlike you I wouldn't ever hurt anybody like that." She snickered, her jaw tense.

"See y/n? She can't be trusted" bill spoke, shaking his head.

"Did you?" I asked, looking at Beth.

"The fact that you even have to question that is disgusting. He's manipulating you, how can't you see that?" Beth murmured.

"He's not, I trust him." I frowned, holding his cold hand.

"Don't say I didn't try to help you." She hummed, her eyes lowering.

My stare left her rocking body, turning to Bill's soft gaze, a smile on his face. His thumb trailed over my fingers, the friction making me cringe slightly.

I tightened the straps on my bikini, the material slapping against my thigh, my face scrunching up. The television playing in the bedroom, bill's laughs echoing into the bathroom. I shot one last look at myself in the mirror before heading out, bill's attention turning to me, a low whistle leaving his lips. I snickered, plopping down next to him, his swimming shorts still partially wet.

"you look stunning" he praised, tucking my hair behind my ear.

My face heated up, a wide smile plastered on my flustered face, his hand falling onto my chin. My glossy lips locked in with his, the metal on his tongue colliding with my teeth. I gently cupped his jaw, exploring his sweet mouth, the lingering taste of gum. His free hand caressed my waist, his nails dragging across my bare skin.

"Thank you for believing me" he whispered, pecking my nose.

"Of course, we need trust" I smiled, placing my head onto his warm chest..
